I am so excited that the new book by Barbara Rolls is out. I have used her previous books and managed to get to my ideal weight and keep it off. I also read the recent article in Nutrition Action about this book so had to have it. The book is based on her research studies and includes new recipes with color photos that look amazing. It also has before and after pictures showing how you can adapt meals so you will feel fuller on fewer calories. A must have!

If you enjoy eating, don't like feeling hungry, and want to lose weight on a long term sustainable path, then I recommend reading this book.

Using the caloric density as a guideline as to how much of a given food you should eat is easy to follow. My willpower to avoid sweets has become almost heroic. Honestly, I am shocked how boxes of cookies and bags of chips go untouched by me now. They are just too calorically dense.

When I snack, and I snack all the time, I am eating fresh fruit or no-fat cottage cheese. I eat scrambled eggs with salsa for breakfast. Fruit through out the day and a big dinner with lots of veggies. In fact, after dinners I feel full.

I have yet to try the recipes in the book so I can't comment about them.

Losing weight following the volumetric principles has been easy and pleasant. Just remember: NO hunger PAINs, NO weight re-GAIN

I have made a few of the recipes already and they really taste good. I love the look of this book with its graphic design and photos which make it a pleasure to read. It contains clear advice which is easy to follow.

I like the idea of volumizing by adding more vegetables to everything you eat but was not impressed with the recipes. I tried a few of them and they were okay but not the best.
