I first saw this mug at a friend's home and wow, did I want it! There is a matching Shakespeare's Love Quotes mug, but that wasn't nearly as much fun to read while sipping a cup of java.

Some of our favorite insults included on the mug are:

"I do desire we may be better strangers." (personal favorite)

"Anointed sovereign of sighs and groans"

"False of heart, light of ear, bloody of hand"

"Clod of wayward marl"

They are just too fun!

Besides the insults, the mug is very sturdy, solidly built. It has not chipped and we are rough on mugs here. It washes well in the dishwasher and doesn't lose the coloring on the sayings. It is also microwave safe.

If you do not wish to be the "veriest varlet that ever chewed with a tooth" you will certainly consider this mug. :D

The mug comes in a cardboard box; java is extra. We recommend Peet's coffee whenever possible.

Don't get me wrong, I do love this mug. However, as a reader it makes me cringe to see titles mispelled. I have to wonder if it is just my mug as no one has commented on this previously. When it arrives, check the spelling on Lady Chatterley's Lover. Perhaps it will not bother some as much as others.

As for the quality, I love this mug. Size wise is also top notch.

I bought this mug on a whim, thinking that it would provide a few comments when people saw it, and I was not disappointed. The insults depicted on the mug are uproariously funny, and people who can understand them find them amazing. If one wants to quote Shakespeare, this is the way to start.

Perfect size for any beverage and I can reminisce about good books while enjoying my morning coffee. Tested: have used for hot and cold beverages, have microwaved, have put through dishwasher cycles. No issues at all, integrity seemingly uncompromisable. Very happy with the quality of this mug, the second I have ordered from the Unemployed Philosophers Guild. Highly recommend.

I bought this mug as a Christmas present for my mother, who works in book sales for libraries and schools. She absolutely loved it. I almost bought her the Shakespeare Insults Mug before I found this one, and while I think she would have enjoyed it, too, this one appeals to her nature more and is better suited as an intellectual conversation starter. Having bought several novelty mugs this past Christmas, another nice plus with this one compared to others is its capacity; you won't have to run and refill it nearly as often, and you could use it for a small serving of soup and be pretty satisfied, too.

Bought it as a gift for my husband when he was sad after breaking his mug of 6 years! For a person who drinks tea 3 times a day and begins to develop an unrivaled affinity to his mug - he has no complaints!

This was a great gift for my teenage son who wears snarky t-shirts and loves Shakespeare and insults. The mug is large and high quality. The company shipped it very quickly.
