The third in the Whispers from Mirrowen series: Will Phae reach the land beyond the grasp of the deadly Plague or will the quest through the Scourgelands end in tragedy once again? Read about the author, Jeff Wheeler

Book Description

Dindi and Umbral have an uneasy truce, forced to work together to defeat a greater enemy: the Bone Whistler. The Bone Whistler’s scheme to sacrifice humanity and resurrect the Aelfae will culminate during an eclipse on the spring equinox…in three days.

Their fragile alliance may not withstand the terrors they face. Dindi hides as a clown, but even disguised, her dancing draws the eye of the Bone Whistler himself. She will have to defy him alone, for Umbral has his own troubles.
Finnadro, who has hunted Umbral for a year, finally catches up with him… determined to punish Umbral for all his black deeds.

Life and death, spring and autumn, human and faery, are all reeling out of balance, and the next three days will determine the fate of all Faearth.

5.0 out of 5 stars She does it again! February 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Oh my goodness! This book freaking wowed me. I'd been waiting for months and I was not let down! I'm really trying not to completely gush right now but these books are fantastic! Tara Maya has a way of telling the story so that everything really clicks. So many crazy things would be going on but when it all connected it never felt random or like it was a stretch to make me believe that happened. Everything fit together like a puzzle, each piece coming slowly together. It's truly divine. There's new characters and a glimpse back into some old ones (:
Pretty much an utterly fantastic book everyone should read the unfinished song series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Fantastic Book in a Breathtaking Series March 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Maya has done it again with the sixth installment in this incredible series. I have read all of the available books in the series and have to say that it has only gotten better. The plot is so compelling that it is almost impossible to tear yourself away. The characters in the books are wonderful and interesting. I can't stress how amazing this series is but anyone who picks it up will not be disappointed.
I eagerly awaiting the next book "Mask" and I know that Maya will not disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review of The Unfinished Song Book 6: Blood April 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
OMG! I have to say I LOVE this series!!! I've been drawn in since the first book and have yet to be disappointed. Since this is the 6th book in the series if you haven't read any of them you might not want to read this one. There will be spoilers, if not for the book, then for the series itself. As for the rest of you there will probably be spoilers for book six following but it can't be helped and I'll try to limit them to the bare minimum.

Let me start by saying that the world of Faearth that Tara Maya has created is amazing! With each book it keeps getting better and better! Seriously awesome! Every book has taken the reader to a new place in her world and each one is just as interesting as the last.

Her characters are amazing too! I have my faves, of course, but all of them are amazingly well woven into the story. While they all grow or change in some way they also all stay true to themselves, even when they have a complete life changing event. They don't just change between books for no reason.

As for the story itself...there are soooo many parts of this book that I have been waiting for FOREVER!!! I won't go into detail because I promised...but....let's just say that I was right all along! *happy dance* Sorry there was something I had thought was true all along but the author story had led me to believe it wasn't, and I'm happy I was right. Also it looks as if Dindi is finally getting within sight of her happy ending. I know that the story will eventually end and that there are quite a few more books left in it so she won't get it any time soon, but still she is finally getting to show who she truly is.

Ok.

Amazing! I don't know how Tara manages to do it, but keeps writing amazing books. The stories grow more complex, the subplots are running all over the place; but she pulls it off in a way that keeps you intrigued to the minute details without getting confused about everything going on. I can't believe we are already and only halfway through! I want more and more yet I want to know how everything will end.

The character development grows continuously more intense and complex and I grow more and more vested into their lives.

It's an amazing book and I honestly don't know how someone who has read them all could find them lacking. They contain everything; suspense, adventure, complex characters and interesting storylines. I can't wait to read more.

Throughout the entire book, it really feels like this is it...this is the end. Now the pieces will all come together. But of course, knowing there's 12 books, you know it won't end now. Very brilliantly executed.

Enjoyable and well written! Obviously the author takes pride in her work, unlike many of the self-published works out there now, this author has well-written works without grammar errors.

4.0 out of 5 stars liked it alot January 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A good read. Only reason.I didn't give it five was it was a.tad hard to follow having waited so long between reading the last book over all I liked it. Only.other problem I found was the occasional use of modern phrases kinda threw me out of sync for a minute when they popped up. I love how original the story is not the normal retelling of the same old been there done that story.

I wish the series had been completed before I started reading... I hate to put a story down if it's not finished, to wait on the rest to be published. I couldn't put it down.

More About the Author

Tara Maya has lived in Africa, Europe and Asia. She's pounded sorghum with mortar and pestle in a little clay village where the jungle meets the desert, meditated in a Buddhist monastery in the Himalayas and sailed the Volga river to a secret city that was once the heart of the Soviet space program. This first-hand experience, as well as research into the strange and piquant histories of lost civilizations, inspires her writing. Her terrible housekeeping, however, is entirely the fault of pixies.
