First if you are a fan of all of the SEASONS this is not THE ORIGINAL FIRST SET. Nor is it what is represented in the review just previous to this.

This set is 3 discs and it includes the following titles: "Catastrophes That Changed The Planets", "Nemesis: The Sun's Evil Twin" and "How The Solar System Was Made". It isn't a disc by disc rundown of each planet as the review suggests. However, I would agree that Amazon should do just a touch of research and give the exact names of the titles in their descriptions.

When you show a list price of $80 this would suggest it's a full season and a vague two or three sentence explanation doesn't tell me the names of the actual episodes. (Full disclosure: To Amazon's credit they do not claim it IS a full season.) The expectation for me was for more than three episodes when the seasons include seven or more. Now as far as the product itself goes, these are good episodes and play nicely on our TV. We have a passive system so I don't know if it's better or worse with active. It's not perfect but it's still cool.

I like these a lot but my six year old LOVES watching it. We got them this afternoon and have already gotten through them. Anything Space and 3D is alright by me! We were just hoping for more than three shows. Total run time is 2 hours, 12 minutes. 2.0 audio.

Bought this based on the stellar reviews. The 3D is lame. Most of it is scientists standing in front of a post that you can tell is behind them. The animation is weak and several of the clips are replayed repeatedly throughout the show. Good content for children maybe but for the asking price - these should be spectacular.

Ok so amazon has a habit lately of making listings and giving about 2% effort in the amount of information included.
Are we supposed to guess what this is?

Well here, its a 3-Disc set

Disc 1 Sun & Moon 3D
Disc 2 Jupiter & Saturn 3D
Disc 3 Mars, Mercury & Venus 3D

All three are around 45 minutes a piece. they are BD-25 discs stamped with the data not burned like the Avatar 3D that came with Panasonic 3DTV's lol

It was released on amazon.de not too long ago and is coming to our region very soon. You know you can get these individually on amazon.de they have foreign language on the cover but English DTS 5.1 Audio and are REGION FREE. They are called Secrets of the Universe 3D. So if you can't wait until November that's a solution. I watched ALL THREE and just loved them. I enjoyed Universe: 7 Wonders of the Solar System 3D but to be honest, they kinda repeated information over and over. and hyped the show during the show too much. these three arent like that at all. lots of spectacular 3D effects. There are a few 2-3 minute samples in 1080p of all three of these movies on Sick-Flix.com. You'd fill your slacks if you saw inside.

First of all they only provide you with 3 episodes, which tends to be a bit misleading. Once I got past that fact, I purchased the set in hopes that I would enjoy the 3D version more that the 2D to 3D I use when watching the Universe on TV. What I found was a rushed a conversions that looks worst than the 2D to 3D on a regular HDTV. Overall I was very dissapointed with what was supposed to a blu-ray quality 3D set.

I am a big fan of the Universe show and it was interesting to see the shows in awsome 3D. Recommend for budding scientists.
