4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Starting Point for Beginners March 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Empire Total War is a big game, and it can be pretty daunting for beginners, especially those not familiar with the franchise or more importantly, the kind of warfare that Empire encompasses. Even for those familiar with previous TW games, Empire is a a whole new ball game as there's a major change in the style of warfare and the use of available units. No mangonels here!

This guide deals solely with the tactics of land battles in Empire Total war and provides good coverage of the units available to fight these battles. It is ideal for the beginner or anyone struggling to come to terms with land battles in the game. It can be difficult to figure out how all the different units fit together and this guide does help you get an idea of what each unit is best suited to and how to do it.

While not a comprehensive game guide, it is not intended to be in my opinion so I took it for what it was and that is purely a beginner's guide to land units in Empire Total War and how to use them. A good foundation for a new player to build on.

Most insightful.

More About the Author

Hi I'm Allan Curtis. I write guides for iOS and PC games and whatever else takes my fancy. I first got the writing bug years ago when I used to spend a lot of time on a site called Gamefaqs, reading reviews written by others. I guess I started out just wanting to have my own voice and opinion on games, especially if one was really bad. I also started writing guides for games just because it was fun and I seemed to be good at it. I wrote a few guides which I uploaded to forums before I decided to turn professional, or I like to think I'm professional. I published all my guides on Amazon and have been steadily adding new content. I am visually disabled and sometimes make a few typos, but I always make my work as flawless as possible, while still being easy for anyone to understand and use to learn the game in question. I love to write and always have even in school English was my favourite class and I am very happy to be able to have my work online where others can enjoy and benefit from it.

I used to write for AppAdvice, a IOS app site, but left a short while ago.

I love feedback on my guides, but please be constructive. For example, a review on my RTW guide I spent months writing and which is over 200 pages AND which I sell for very little money got a 1 star because the reviewer, who has reviewed almost nothing else on Amazon, besides dildos (yes DILDOS) didn't think it was detailed enough. I do update my books often and take all feedback to heart.

As a freelancer, I will write for anyone. If you have something you'd like me to write feel free to contact me.
