What water did not run off, evaporated thru the cloth very rapidly.

This vertical garden planter is definitely not as sturdy as the one I have seen in a local store, but it was also remarkably cheaper. It seems sturdy enough to hold the flowers. The only thing I am a little concerned with is if it will last for more than one year. The planter I looked at in a store nearby had a rubber cover in the front of the pocket. This one is just fabric and I wonder what the water from the soil will do to the pockets. I am assuming that there will be some discoloration from the dirt. For now I have hung my 2 planters outside and I am looking forward to planting flowers and orange mint in them. If it doesn't hold up, it was worth a try and I will look into the more expensive models for next summer.

***I have had these planters for 1 1/2 years now and they are still holding up well. I did not store them inside, but left them out throughout the winter and they are still going strong. Really the only thing that I would change is to fasten them on hooks to the wall so that you can take them off and empty the dirt more easily when needed.

I live in the city and my backyard is 100% cement. I had been looking online at vertical garden planters and many of them were too expensive. This is an awesome planter that comes with zip ties should you want to hang on your railing as shown in the photo. I hung on nails directly on wall and it looks super.

I looked at a number of vertical planters online. The Urban Garden vertical planter was everything I hoped for. The price is way better than similar products. The construction is sturdy and ecologically conscious as it's made from recycled plastic bottles. The capacity of each pocket handles plenty of plant growth and the neutral color works as an unobtrusive background for the plantings. In fact, the color of the planter nearly matches my solid patio fence and after I attached a 2x4 "frame" around the planter it has a nice permanent look. I have already received a number of positive reactions from visitors to my patio. I highly recommend this product.

I purchased two of these a month or so ago. We've since hung them and added plants. For us, this was the perfect solution. I didn't need pockets that could go inside and I didn't want to pay $$$ for them either. These are made of felt and hang nicely. So far our herbs are happy!

I was looking for another pocket garden planter when I came upon this one. This blends so much better with the natural setting of a garden. My herbs are much happier and I left three pockets empty so I can use them to hold small potted flowers. This way I can quickly change out the flowers as the season changes. No more slugs or snails headed for my garden, and my ugly wall is given some personality. It's hanging right in my patio area. I come home late from work but I can turn on my patio lights and ensure I water my plants. Use the strapping cables. My husband tried to just use hooks but the weight from the soil and plants bent the hooks. The cables are working much better to secure planter.

cheaply made. I don't expect it to hold up. But that's ok since this is my first time trying vertical garden... will probably buy a better made one if I can keep the plants alive

I love this planter. I attached it with the zip ties to the railing on my balcony and it now hangs perfectly. It's been around 3 weeks and the herbs I planted have doubled in size.

I will say, it took much more soil than the instructions said, but it could be because of the specific herbs I selected (and the amount of soil they already had in their pots).

I purchased 6 of the 6 pocket product in Oct of 2012. Love the look of them. Planted and quickly learned that you must water daily here in Zone 9 Texas. By early spring I notice that on several of the seams on the upper pockets were beginning to pull apart. I have taken them down emptied and washed them out.. Now I am sewing a length of twill tape along all seams to reinforce the single pass stich all around the pocket product. I would suggest the construction of the pockets include some more reinforcement. I have also had a drip irrigation system built to accommodate the water needs of a hot Texas summer coming up.
These pockets are a great way to contain mints and other invasive plants.
Love my products.
