5.0 out of 5 stars Vegetarians can be more Paleo February 12, 2012
By Paul
Format:Kindle Edition
This book cannot be considered classically Paleo because it doesn't include meat but it was intriguing enough for me to have a closer look. Besides not including animal meat, this book still adheres to the principles of Paleo. It'll offer vegetarians and even Paleo eaters a chance to eat healthy delicious vegetarian meals thats still follows the Paleo diet. Sometimes its nice to have a break from meat. Highly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Cookbook for Vegetarians February 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Although I don't eat a paleo diet, I do eat primarily vegetarian and am always looking for more recipes. I've already bookmarked several recipes from this cookbook to try including the fruit & nut cereal bowl and the portobello steak & sweet potato fries. And then for dessert, the strawberry banana cream pie looks delicious! Thanks for some more great recipes to add to my vegetarian arsenal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Food Even if You're Not a Vegetarian February 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A friend recommended this book to me. I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I am trying to reduce the amount of meat in my diet. So among the many cookbooks I buy many are vegetarian. There are many recipes in this book that will appeal to the non-vegetarian. I liked the soups in particular ~ especially for the winter. The breakfast options also look good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Real Food Vegetarian Ideas August 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
While this is a small booklet, the price reflects it, and the $3.00 is well worth it to support real food vegetarian and vegan menu items. In addition, there are no grains or dairy for those many who need to avoid them (Paleo or not). Happily, no trips down the pre-packaged aisles to pick up soy protein isolate/textured soy protein, either. Ie the stuff that's in supermarket fake cheese or fake meats -- or in a lot of other foods even the omnivorous take for granted.

These ideas and recipes make a good jumping off point for serving tasty and nutritious vegetarian but Paleo-compliant meals. (I may well mix around seasonings and vegetables with impulse.) Yes, for the vegans, a lot of the recipes include eggs.

I'm neither completely Paleo (I eat legumes and some dairy), nor vegetarian (pastured meats and safe seafoods); these recipes however will satisfy the vegetarians I know, and provide me with more nutritional veggies anyway, while keeping my kitchen cuisine firmly in a "real food" mode.

3.0 out of 5 stars No complaints. February 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I am a vegetarian who recently found out that I'm allergic to wheat, yeast, eggs and cheese. My doctor wanted me to go on The Paleo Diet, but I have no intentions of eating meat. This book was cheap. It's accessible as it went straight to my Kindle. It easy to read and easy to use and let's just say, I'm not known for my cooking!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Vegetarian Recipes Good For Us All February 10, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Even though I'm not a vegetarian I found the recipes in this cookbook to be interesting and I would definitely use many of them. The first one that caught my eye was the Portobello & Eggs. I love both those ingredients so I knew I'd like this dish. And I was right, I did like it. I made it for breakfast this morning and it was excellent.

I plan to try the Apple and Nut Salad later today but I will substitute pecans for the walnuts as I love pecans and only tolerate walnuts. I think the flavor will be similar. And on a hot summer day I know we'd love the Chilled Cucumber Soup. Just the name conjures up freshness so I'm sure the actual soup will send our taste buds into overdrive.

And in the dessert category I will try the Stuffed Apples. What a great idea to stuff apples with raisins. Sounds delicious.

Overall I'd say that this cookbook has many recipes that I think would be well worth trying and probably coming back to again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent collection February 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I recently found out I'm sensitive to wheat, and dairy, and grains in general. This led me to the Paleolithic diet and I also want to keep the meat in my diet to a minimum. Ive downloaded quite a few cookbooks lately and this probably the best one ive found for my situation.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed February 17, 2013
By E. Holt
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was extremely disappointed with this book recipes are bland and there isn't a lot of protein at all. The recipes are very VERY basic- even a novice would them a little insulting. For example there are recipes for smoothies that consist of putting fruit in a blender or breakfast recipes that are pretty much omelets with different veggies added to them. Over all I do not recommend buying this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars short, not a lot of imagination
It's an ok book, not worth more than a couple dollars. Probably won't make any of these recipes, they just don't sound all that appealing. Who needs an omelet recipe?

4.0 out of 5 stars Paleo cookbook
It is a very good cookbook. The recipes are healthy and palatable. I have tried most of them and I have even shared some of them with people who don't eat Paleo.

I didn't care too much for some of the recipes in this book, but I tried the majority of them. My favorite was the paleo pancakes.
