5.0 out of 5 stars A great collection of soccer-related articles January 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Pitch Invasion is one of my favorite soccer blogs, mainly because it's different than most blogs out there. They discuss the finer points of the game: the fandom, the culture, the history and what it means to fans. I think that Pitch Invasion appeals to the connoisseurs of sport.

The book has a wide breadth, covering EPL, Japan's J-League, America's own MLS and touches on topics like the social psychology of being a fan, football songs, the design of logos, and what soccer means to fans, including very touching tributes to longtime fans Al Hack of Chicago and to Steven Wells of Philadelphia, whose passion for the sport live on through the lives that they've touched. Throughout the book, there's no shortage of thought-provoking essays.

Through over 200 pages, you get a great glimpse at what a great soccer blog has to offer. It's not just about the 90 minutes that's played on the field, but it's about the spaces between the final whistle and the next game. And the Best of Pitch Invasion captures that very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice collection of soccer related essays August 6, 2012
Format:Paperback
A Well edited book of online blog postings by a variety of talented writers. Good insight and theories into a number of different angles pertaining to the soccer world including culture, supporters, branding, and more. I look forward to perhaps a 2nd collection someday.
