His best solo work, his best duets, his biggest hits-30 Willie Nelson classics in all! Includes Always on My Mind; To All the Girls I've Loved Before (with Julio Iglesias); On the Road Again (live); Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain; Good Hearted Woman (with Waylon Jennings); Let It Be Me; Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys (with Waylon Jennings); My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys; Remember Me; Georgia on My Mind; Angels Flying Too Close to the Ground; Blue Skies; If You've Got the Money, I've Got the Time , and more.
Perhaps his superb three-CD box Revolutions of Time
is a bit out of your price range. Maybe his 16 Biggest Hits
collection feels a bit slight. This two-CD set works as a fair compromise between the two, although it lacks any discographical information or liner notes. Still, the music here is mostly breathtaking and is varied and balanced enough to provide a clear sense of Nelson's numerous strengths: a deft songwriting flair, a respect for country's traditions, a distinctive nasal twang, and a wonderful touch and feel on his gut-string guitar. --Marc Greilsamer
