Rabbi Erwin Schild has the most amazing story. I had to give him 5 stars just for living through what he survived. He has a great attitude.

As a German Jew 18 year old studying in a Jewish Teachers' Seminary on Nov 9/38 (Kristallnacht - The night of broken glass), he was woken in the night and taken prisoner by the Nazis. He was taken to Dachau. He escaped from there to England.

Surely that would be an incredible story but there is more. He was free for over a year then rounded up in Britain as a "German" and interned and shipped to Canada for the rest of the war.

He is an 88 year old Rabbi now and preaches religious tolerance and promotes interfaith action as the best was to ensure nothing as terrible as the holocaust can ever happen again.

I have huge respect for Schild and his attitude to survive and thrive.
