Book Description

When the Normans conquered England, Deorwynn lost almost everything, including her family. Only one beloved brother survives. After spending fifteen years in a grim convent, punished for every sinful thought, Deorwynn can withstand anything.

But nothing, she soon learns, could prepare her for falling in love.

Guy Devaux is delighted with the amorous virgin waiting for him on his wedding night. There’s only one problem. The saucy-mouthed wench is not his bride. Oh yes, he knows the veiled woman in his bed is an imposter, but he’ll go along with the game. For now.

Just as soon as he conquers this foolish desire, this yearning to hear her say she loves him.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wowed again October 5, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had this one on my Kindle waiting to be read. After finishing Ever Night in one day, I dove into this one with gusto. Once again Georgia Fox doesn't disappoint. Although her main heroine is the 'traditional' virgin, I love the defiance and brashness of the character as a whole. She tempts and seduces just making the heat level rise.

I feel the internal struggles of Deorwynn and what I love about the way Fox writes is it's not the 'traditional' flouncing female we see all too often in romance novels these days. I love how Guy Devaux tries to be the domineering male and the king of his castle only to bow to the whims of a woman he can't resist.

While this has menage elements as Ever Night did, it goes in a different direction in the end. And that made me love it even more.

5.0 out of 5 stars After reading the first... had to get the second! September 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loving reading and could not resist buying the second story in this series after I read the first. Okay, if I liked story 1... than I loved two. It was a lot longer than the first story and made you cheer and champion for the H/H to be together. Can I say it was Hot, Hot, Hot... it was. So, if you are looking for a hot erotic historical romance, with some menage action, than this story is for you. I would have liked to see the "official wedding night" of the H/H, but still enjoyed the story fully. I could not find any other books by this author, but this one and the first (Ever Knight), however, being a new author she knows her stuff. I can't wait to see more from Ms. Fox. Can't wait for story three as well, because at the end you get a glimpse of the heroine's brother and that there might be a story for him coming....soon I hope.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Love Story March 13, 2013
By Jen
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
3.5 Stars.
This was the first story in the series - I read the second story first but it didn't matter. I really like the way Georgia Fox writes. It moves quickly and very interestingly.
Lady Sibilia is to be married, however, she is not a virgin and in fact is already pregnant. She devises a plan for another to take her place on the wedding night. Deorwynn is a virgin and sees this as an opportunity to escape Thd convent. She is of noble heritage but this is not known by others.
Guy, the intended groom, falls in love with Deorwynn as soon as he sees her and realises the game the two women are playing. He decides to play a game if his own!
The only thing I had trouble with in this story was the casual attitude that everyone seemed to have towards sex, even the hero after he realises he's in love with the heroine.
There is a really lovely, tender moment when Deorwynn, the heroine, speaks openly and honestly to Guy the hero about how hurt she feels that he would easily share her with another man.
The second story in the series follows on just a day or two after this one finishes and is a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm In Love With This Book March 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Oh My Gosh, this book was awesome. It was romantic, sweet, erotic and funny all rolled into one. Georgia Fox really out did herself on this book and I love the cover. I enjoyed reading the back and forth banter between to the two characters and them trying to figure out who knew what and which lies to keep up with. The author also leaves little mysteries throughout the story that all comes together very nicely towards the end. Watching the lies and games slowly turn into love was the sweetest thing. I really wish I could give The Virgin Proxy more than 5 stars but I do know that I will be reading more of Mrs. Fox's work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wickedly Spicy October 13, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Partial review follows. To read my full review, please visit: [...]

The Conqueror's series continues with The Virgin Proxy, which carries on Georgia Fox's tradition of wickedly spicy novellas with a menage twist! However, where as book one seemed a bit more hurried and focused more on the (very heated) sex between the characters, TVP lingers more on the budding relationship and a longer storyline.

Deorwynn has lived the past 15 years of her life within the stiff confines of the convent, punished often for her defiance to authority and her sins. Now, with her father dead and her only remaining family member (an older brother) in prison, her chances of escaping the hell-hole that is her own prison are now close to nil--and the sisters are prepared to make her a nun!

Sybilia, another young woman being kept there at the convent, offers Deorwynn another option--she'll take Deorwynn with her when she leaves a few days later, traveling to her husband-to-be. Deorwynn is not fond of Sybilia, but the offer for freedom is very tempting. There is just one catch: Sybilia requires Deorwynn to be her handmaiden....oh,and to stand in as a proxy for her on her wedding night to the Norman lord. Deorwynn is a virgin, Sybilia, however, is not, and fears the wraith of her husband for not being untouched.

Upon reaching Guy's keep, Deorwynn begins to wonder what she's gotten herself into. Their first night there, she meets the lord himself while bathing--thought at the time he thinks her to be his betrothed and she thinks him to be her dream lover. After a very heated scene in the bathing room, Guy is the first to realize his mistake, though he doesn't regret it; Deorwynn is not aware of who he is until her formal introduction to him the next day before the wedding ceremony.

More About the Author

Georgia Fox has lived in many different places, including a canal boat, but sadly never in a windmill or a lighthouse. Maybe that's next! She loves good company, spicy food, thought-provoking erotica, and excellent brandy. She also enjoys pushing boundaries.

In her life she's done a little bit of everything and somehow lived to tell the tales. Except those she's legally bound not to spill - for now.

She doesn't believe in fairies, ghosts, flying saucers, or conspiracy theories. But she still believes in love.
