I like taking the visuals out of it initially...there was that one really cute girl that no one turned around for....and then CeLo was regretting it as soon as he saw her....love that it is just the voice that sells them
Since my granddughter was using my computer and wanted to watch The Voice, I watched the entire show and missed Pia singing. I really enjoyed the show. I liked the fact that contestants were pre-screened and chosen so we didn't have to see all of the BAD audition footage that Idol has before we get to the good stuff. I really felt sorry for the father of six who is in recovery from drugs and alcohol and wasn't chosen. I thought he was really good. That was quite a diverse group tonight.
MusicX3...we have been watching about the drought in Texas, sounds terrible...a good friend lives in New Mexico and yesterday she was telling me they are dealing with the same problem...Wish I could send you 1/2 of the water we've got!... flooding and roads closing all over. Hope you get some rain soon...
There's lots of good talent there! And to answer your question about Frenchie Davis - yep, that Frenchie! :) Also, watch for Javier when you see it. He's not on until the last half hour. He's really good.
It's bad, Bobbie. Our city has just started 'rationing' water - even/odd house numbers have alternate days they can water their lawns and the fine is steep if they're caught any time but then. The city can even remove their meter if they don't comply.
We're not in the city and have water wells, so it doesn't affect us, but except for our lawn which is on automatic sprinklers, our fields are dry and getting covered up with sand.
I know Ohio and many other states near you have had much flooding - way more rain than you need or want!
Cube, I think that you'll like the show. Post here and let us know your opinion. I was really quite impressed with some of the singers. You'll see Frenchie there. Remember her? She was disqualified from Idol seven year ago because some photos of her taken at age 19 were posted on the internet. I don't think they would have done that today.
I am loving this new show....the judges were entertaining...and I like that they actually have an "investment" in how their contestants do...love the mentoring idea, love that they have to choose them sight unseen...and the talent was great last night...just what I need to do is add another talent show to my repetoire of "must TV"
"The Voice" had a strong premiere for NBC Tuesday, outrating "Glee" in the half-hour they opposed each other and giving the network an adults 18-49 victory for the night.
ABC still had the lead in viewers, averaging 14.3 million people along with a 9.3 rating/14 share in primetime. NBC (10.3 million, 6.1/9) came in second, beating out CBS' 9.8 million viewers and 6.3/10. FOX (7.55 million, 4.5/7) came in fourth, and The CW (1.3 million, 0.9/1) trailed. The CW's numbers may change some because its lineup was pre-empted in Chicago, the nation's third-biggest market.
NBC's 4.3 rating among adults 18-49 led the demo by a pretty good-sized margin. FOX took second with a 3.0, followed by ABC at 2.7. CBS came in fourth with a 1.9, while The CW drew a 0.6.
Tuesday hour by hour:
ABC: "Dancing With the Stars: The Road to the Finals" (12.85 million viewers, 8.3/13 households) CBS: "NCIS" rerun (11.1 million, 7.2/11) FOX: "Glee" (8.5 million, 5.1/8) NBC: "The Biggest Loser" (7.5 million, 4.6/7) The CW: "One Tree Hill" (1.5 million, 1.0/2)
18-49 leader: "Glee" (3.4)
ABC: "Dancing With the Stars" results (18 million, 11.6/17) NBC: "The Voice" series premiere (11.4 million, 6.5/10) CBS: "NCIS: Los Angeles" rerun (10.2 million, 6.5/10) FOX: "Glee" (8.6 million, 5.1/8)/"Raising Hope" (4.6 million, 2.7/4) The CW: "Hellcats" (1.1 million, 0.7/1)
