I just received my copy of this new omnibus collection of The Walking Dead and I am in love! This collection, a long with volume one omnibus and to a lesser but still top notch degree the four smaller hardcovers are how this comic should be read. It's nice to see the great art work in a bigger format than the regular trages or the comics themselves and the story just flows nicely with so many of the issues collected (24-48.) The dust jacket art work is an amazing bit of art and I would be tempted to have it hanging on my wall if the book itself wasn't so expensive, but when I preordered the book in December the price was reduced to a lovely 63 dollars which was a lot easier to swallow than the 100 dollar price tag. However, with the extras you get in the collection a long with the larger format makes the price seem not as steep. Overall, it's just the perfect collection for TWD fans.

The book comes with a very nice slipcase and the cover is colored with great imagery of the series.
The binding is of good quality and the comics are printed in glossy paper.
The book is oversized, thus making it almost like a coffee table book, and heavy as hell...
Tons of extra material inside, like covers, sketches and portraits of characters!
All in all if you are a fan of the series it is worth the price!

This book 2 of The Walking Dead Series is just getting better and better. The story line realy unfolds in this next installment of 4 chapters in the lives of the few left alive after the world has been turned into flesh eating zombie's. The Walking Dead series is the BEST take on the troubles of rebuilding your society and your shattered families after the zombie virus/infestation has gone on for weeks, months, years.... I highly suggest getting Book 1 first to read the story from the beginning and you will not be able to put them down. Highly recommended for any horror film lover and especially any zombie film nerd.

Its no secret that The Walking Dead is one of the most popular comics of the decade. So without going into detail about the strengths and weakness of the story itself, this review is going to focus on the Omnibus publication specifically.

The Walking Dead Omnibus Volume 2 attempts to combine issues 24-48 all under one cover, and does so very well. The comics are published without break to create one continuous story. The paper and binding is of professional quality, and it feels great in your hands. Also with this edition are some never before published behind the scenes sketches and drawings now made available for the first time.

For die hard collectors it should be noted that this is the 2nd edition, and not the 1st.

My one gripe with the Omnibus edition is that it does not contain the Letter Hacks section that is published with the original comics. But this small imperfection is only a personal opinion, and doesn't effect the quality of the story at all.

For someone looking to add the walking dead canon, this edition is high quality reproduction that will look beautiful on your bookshelf.

This is as good as it gets if you like to collect the series. If you are just a casual reader then pass and get something else to save money. As I have an addiction to hardcover books this was the best edition for me.

Again, these hardbound slipcases are pricey, but for comic books fans looking for presentation on top of the great art and story, it's hard to argue with one of these omnibus editions. I love the style of the art for the slipcase. Oversized art insides and some extras.

If you are a zombie newbie or an aficinado, the walking dead is a great read. The hardcover edition is a great addition to my library and I strongly reccomend Kirkman and Adlard to all.

These books are expensive; but they do contain all color pages of comic books. They do not go along with the series and will not tell you what will or won't happen on the series. Many of the characters and their relationships are nothing like the show, which is actually the coolest part.
DO NOT ASSUME THESES ARE FOR KIDS! They are comic books but they are certainly not for kids. There is sex and violence galore. But if you like that sort of thing these interesting.
