Awesome debut CD!!,

This is the CD that leaves you wanting more. For the serious jazz guitar enthusiast, this first CD has all the elements of Roy Ayers, Stanley Clarke, and others from back in the day, but it's Ray's guitar style that keeps the flow upbeat and modern. Reminiscent of Metheny on his licks, and Benson or Jordan on his flavor, Jeff Ray has a rhythm all his own!
His rendition of "Everybody Loves the Sunshine" sounds like a jam session made for a recording. That is my favorite selection on this CD. The artists featured on the CD with Ray definitely round out the songs and make them full and complete. This is one for the car, Ipod, MP3 player -- or an intimate social set. There is definitely something for every jazz ear. Looking forward to more from this artist. Definitely. |
