This book captures many lessons in growing up. Truthful tales of courage, leadership and hope. Easily relatable to anyones life in many ways. Incredible insight and solid suggestions for the inevitable adversity people face in their lifetime.

Dave shows he is living proof that good things will happen if you believe and are resilient.I found his stories inspiring and eye-opening. After reading The Wandering Leader I feel I have improved myself and gained a stronger self confidence. I recommend this book to everyone!

I must preface this review by saying I have known David for many years now. I have seen David develop from a summer-time hockey camp counsellor, to a part-time coach, to manage one of the most prolific Jr. A hockey programs in the nation and now as a successful head coach all throughout Europe (not to mention an intercontinental motivational public speaker).

One thing that has never changed with David though is his genuineness and thoughtfulness. No matter what time of day, or whether we haven't been in contact for months I have no hesitation in picking up my phone and getting in touch. David's personality, love and genuine care for each and everybody he comes into contact with is exemplified in this great read. Having received my copy right at the time of my medical school exams, I had trouble putting it down and have not regretted that decision.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an honest, can't-put-down read that will open your eyes and motivate you to become the best leader you possibly can be.

I had a great time reading this book and connecting to the author through his stories and lessons. I felt I could relate to him and his insights.
This is a different breed of leadership book as it is not written by an accomplished CEO who has attained all the fame and fortune and writes in abstract theoretical ideas. David is down to earth and admits he still figuring out leadership and his own journey. How refreshing to read a book from a leader who is still being built as most of us are and not an ivory tower know-it-all.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has a passion for learning and growing themselves as a person and leader.

This book is a testament to understanding leadership as a growing art form, rather then something that can be carbon copied. Dave shares about his personal struggles, how he overcomes them and how he has been able to influence and lead others to do the same. I have followed Dave though his journey and as a "Fellow Wandering Leader" I can highly relate to the issues that are critical in developing the leader from with-in and leading others to develop to acheive "The Great Promise" inside them.

This is not a "how to book" like those of John Maxwell, or Shula. This is a rubber hitting the road leadership book, with shared wisdom on overcoming speed bumps along the way.

Thank you Dave for this peice of work.
