I was THRILLED to find this series online. I wondered what had happened to this series on the ID Channel. I also discovered more ID series available on Netflix. I'm now one step closer to pulling the plug on satellite/cable!

Disappeared is a refreshing series compared to the endless parade of murder shows Investigation Discovery pumps out on the regular. For one, most people don't turn up dead at the end of the episode. Most never turn up. I guess that's the point of the show. For another thing, the stories are way more intriguing on a human level as the show tries to deconstruct the events leading up to the disappearance, often leaving us with more questions than answers.

While sometimes crossing the line to indulgent true crime porn, the show for the most part does not exploit the family and victims.

It's a fascinating show that in many ways is darker and more disturbing than its countless counterparts covering straightforward murders.

I live in the town where Rachel disappeared. It's nice to see after all this time her family is still getting the word out about her disappearance. Still hoping the get closure sometime soon.

A friend of mine was interviewed for this show so I had a personal interest in this episode. This being said, I am a big fan of the series anyway.
