3.0 out of 5 stars This Weddings A Hoot July 23, 2003
By A Customer
A lot has happened in the world of television since the first season of MTV's Real World back in 1992! We now have bachelors, jackasses, survivors, amazing racers, and just about anything you can think of in this world of so-called "reality" TV. Norm Korpi along with his buddy Clint Cowen have produced "The Wedding Video" which spoofs this whole genre and reunites his cast members from the good ol' days of the "Real World".
The basic premise is that Norm is about to be married to Sky (Brien Perry- a real life straight porn star I might add) whom a few of his friends think is a woman and that Norm is straight. Surprise, surprise! Anyhow, Norm's taken the $10,000 his mom has given him, she refuses to attend or accept such a thing, and has hired an amateur videographer (Clint Cowen) to film the event up to the big day. It's a bit slow in the beginning as guests are filmed in their respective hometowns and is a bit chatty, and it isn't until they all arrive in L.A. that things begin to pick up. The "Real World" cast is reunited, for those of you who forgot, Julie Oliver, Heather B., Rachel Campos, Syrus Yarbrough, and so forth. Fans of the show will surely get a kick out of it, but if you've never seen any of them before, the one who steals the show is Heather B. Funny and with an attitude she comes across as the most natural and "real" of the bunch. But what is real and what is not? With plenty of backstabbing, bickering and mayhem, it's all caught on tape for us to see, even when the cameraman tells certain guests he's not filming. He's so sneaky! Capturing everything from the girls fighting, a wild bachelor party, a secret from Sky's past and just about everything in between it's one bumpy ride. Meanwhile, poor ol' Norm is totally oblivious to anything and everything that is going on around him.

I saw this at a film festival in Tampa Florida. Heather B. is the funniest thing I have ever seen. This movie is a classic comedy of errors. Just when you think nothing else can go wrong with the weirdest wedding on earth-- you get hit with something even more outlandishly funny. By the end I was in stiches. The film sucessfully delivered several really smart messages cloaked in a trojan horse of comedy. Very, very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars very cute April 1, 2006
I dont know when this was made but i saw it in 2006. I enjoyed seeing all the older REAL WORLD cast that i have missed so much in the last 10 years. It was very funny also and some of the acting was actually pretty good. what i liked was that Cory became a stripper and as anyone who watched knew Cory was such a sweet naive girl i dont believe she ever would become a stripper (or did she?) anyway loved seeing Heather in her usual spunkiness and Julie all grown up. I dont know if you werent a REAL WORLD watcher when it really was REAL if you would like it but i got a big kick out of it and really was pleasently surprised

3.0 out of 5 stars The Sky is the limit! October 24, 2006
Format:VHS Tape|Verified Purchase
Having recently been given the honors of creating a wedding video for someone, I can relate to some of the antics of this one. Honestly I expected more from this film. It is funny however as the photographer hired to do a gay wedding video gets his eyes and ears full of people invited to this non traditional wedding. Theres not a dull moment, and at least in the end the video comes together very nicely in spite of it all. That's about the only part of this wedding that came off without a hitch. A lot of surprises, great casting, good quality for the most part, but the plot could have been done a little more dramatic for my taste. Not a total waste of money however. I recommend it to anyone who is not extremely picky and who are looking for something a little different. Don't expect a world class motion picture, and you should enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic comedy, a must see!!! June 1, 2003

While all the Derby festivities were taking place, I was at the local preview of The Wedding Video. Everything was there, the Red carpet, popcorn, burgers, and a great film. Norman Korpi, in his directoral debut The Wedding Video, shows the brilliance of a young talent who just blossomed. Heather B. steals the show with her performance, and for all of the stars of this film, bravo! On the surface, this movie is just plain funny. Looking further and deeper, you'll find the reality of reality TV. Enjoy, because I did.

1.0 out of 5 stars Yawn, a loser movie May 17, 2014
Taking the reality series from television to film did not improve the venue at all. All it does is make longer the insufferable poor acting. I went to sleep twice I was so bored. This is one that I bought, and will be looking to unload soon from my collection. Very much a waste of plastic.
