Editorial Reviews

Review

Once again, George Bilgere has shown that imaginative wonders and deep emotional truths can be achieved with plain, colloquial American speech. --Billy Collins

The funny thing about The White Museum is that it keeps on being funny while being perfectly clear-eyed about the cargo of unrealistic expectations. The other thing is that George Bilgere is an absolute whiz at the twists and turns of the glorious American language, the flexible American syntax, as spoken by everybody up and down the great chain of Americanness in our bewitched century. Oh what a pleasure to watch him spin those sentences. --Alicia Ostriker

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read! July 14, 2010
Format:Perfect Paperback
Bilgere's poetry collection conveys the tragic yet hilarious nature of Modern American life. His deadpan anger and raw emotions not only made me laugh but also connect to the poems. I would highly recommend this work, even for those who generally shy away from poetry, as Bilgere's work is both entertaining and accessible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy George--He's Got It! May 4, 2010
Format:Perfect Paperback
Another 5 stars for George Bilgere who is bringing readers back to poetry.
Bilgere's poems are hilarious, entertaining, tender, thought-provoking, and most of all memorable.
He's Everyman, commemorating our daily lives. In short, Bilgere is doing his job very, very well.
But don't take my word for it. Go to Writer's Almanac and search his name.
You'll want to read more. Keep busy, George. Please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful! January 10, 2010
Format:Perfect Paperback
Bilgere's poems are refreshingly candid, sincere and honest. He makes the commonplace uncommon, and I was delighted to read this new collection - Bilgere is a genius.
