Here is the concept of this short story - in Talk Me Down; Molly is a very successful writer of erotic fiction and this is the book that she was writing through out that novel.
This story is set in the old west and the budding romance/lust between an English widow and her next door neighbor the local sheriff. It was well writing and fun escape - but is R-rated so you have been warned - Enjoy! If you are looking for some more great reads from this author I would also suggest; To Tempt A Scotsman (Zebra Debut), A Rake's Guide To Pleasure (Zebra Historical Romance), One Week As Lovers, Talk Me Down(# 1 in Tumble Creek Series) , Start Me Up (# 2 in Tumble Creek Series) & Lead Me On (Hqn)(# 3 in Tumble Creek Series). Looking forward to Crazy for Love, due out August 2010 & A Little Bit Wild due out August 2010.

Short but sweet - has a Victorian widow meet a Wyoming sheriff and instinctively understand that he, like her previous husband, is a dom, and she is a very happy sub. Of course the Sherriff is not as sure as she is, and some tension ensues, but it all works out in the end. This is a light bdsm novel, but does have some explicit scenes.
One thing I'm still stumbling on is how 130 kb translates into page length, but I don't think it's very long at all, this is a short story, not even a novella, but the story is so coherent in itself that I was happy to read it and happy to pay $2.39 for it, but it really reads like an extended magazine article and took maybe 30 mins tops to read. (even if they gave word count, I'd have a better idea of what I was buying.... maybe I'll suggest that next!)

this story was very short and left a lot to be desired. I cant really think of anything that was "good" about this short. I think it TRIED to be emotionally charged but I wasnt feeling it at all. It was sorta like a DEADWOOD porn short... best I could do, sorry

This is a sexy historical short piece. It gets the BDSM dynamic right, so that even if it's not your kink, you can feel the power of the sexual desire and the emotional connection between the characters.

I am so excited that I found this! Victoria Dahl writes this story as Holly Summers. Holly is Molly Jennings alter ego. Molly is the heroine of Talk Me Down. She is a closet erotica writer, and here we get a short novella of Holly's erotic work.I felt a bit like to nosy neighbors of Tumble Creek having to run out and read about the hot scenes inside Molly's head. And I can't help but wonder if this is the cowboy story Molly was working on while we read Talk Me Down. But enough of that, let me tell you about this story. It was a hot short read with a touch of kink. You do not have to read Tumble Creek to enjoy it as it has nothing really to do with the series. Tom Hale is the town Sheriff and neighbor of Mrs. Lily Anders. She's just moved into town from England after he brother left her the house and her husband died a year ago. And I said kink before. Tom Hale's wife left him years ago because she knew he had a dark side to him he wasn't showing and she wasn't ready to deal with. He likes to dominate, to spank, to tie up and to give a rough and hard ride. But he is so scared of that side of himself he's always hidden it. Lily on the other hand has only known pleasure with punishment as that is what her husband showed her. She sees that in Hale and is determined to be his, and to please him. In short, if you are looking for a quick short read that will steam up your ereader then pick this up, you won't regret it. And I really wish Ms. Dahl would put more of these erotic shorts by Ms. Summers. ;)

Get On Your Knees, Lily,

Just finished Talk Me Down and realized I'd never written a review for The Wicked West, the book that introduced me to Victoria Dahl about a year ago. This was the first romance I'd ever read and I loved it. Story is about conflict, and Dahl has created a world filled with it: two great characters conflicted not just about their lust for each other, but also about their own secret... proclivities (I love that word. It's so judgmental). It was a blast spending time with these character as they struggled to control their behavior and tamp down their lust, and then to finally watch them... well hell, I'm not going to tell you that. But it *was* awesome...
