Jennifer Donnelly has done it again. I loved the first book of this series The Tea Rose, and am so happy that the Winter Rose picks up the story. I fell in love with the characters all over again! Donnelly draws the reader in and doesn't let go. Historical fictions have always been a favorite of mine and Donnelly doesn't disappoint.

A friend had recommended the TEA ROSE to me. I was thrilled to find a new author as talented as Jennifer Donnnelly. The first in this trilogy, the TEA ROSE, was superb. The WINTER ROSE is as suspenseful and beautifully crafted as the TEA ROSE with equally memorable characters. Have already pre-ordered the final book in the trilogy.

BY CHANCE......I PICKED UP TEA ROSE BY DONNELLY. I WAS NOT SO FOND OF THE COVER. AS ONE MIGHT SAY NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY THE COVER. I FOUND IT TO BE A STUNNING STORY AND NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM READING THE WINTER ROSE AND HAVE ALSO PURCHASED THE WILD ROSE . THANK YOU AMAZOM! I SO ENJOY YOUR REVIEWS AND HAVE NOT BEEN DISAPPOINTED.

I fell in love with this series as soon as I picked it up! The fantastic imagery contained within these pages with not fail to whisk you away into Victorian Era London! This is the second book in the series, the former being the Tea Rose, and the latter being the Wild Rose. I hope that you love this book just as must as I did!

What a great story! Love, mystery, horror, inspiration, suspense, family, hope, persistence... you name it and this book had it. Strong characters, plot twists every corner, the story completely absorbed me as I read. I was not expecting this book to be so great... I loved The Tea Rose but this was 10000000x more powerful.

I Love these books. Jennifer Donnelly is a first rate story teller. She has great characters and the story lines are dense. This is not a book for someone who skim reads although you could still read it that way. But the beauty of her work is the layering of the storylines and how they reference real history. Love it.

So far, I have read the Tea Rose and the Winter Rose. I have already downloaded the Wild Rose. This Trilogy is absolutely wonderful. They are so full of suspense and intrigue that you are glued to every page. I find myself trying to read faster and faster to find out what happens next. This author is spectacular.

I chose this rating because I had just finished reading Tea Rose, which was excellent. Winter Rose is the sequel to that and I was disappointed in the story line and I felt it was too long. I liked the characters and most of the story line. But I think the author should have ended it about 100 pages sooner.

A roller coaster ride of ups and downs and anticipation keeps you interested from beginning to end. Steeped in historical notes of Jack the Ripper, early Union times, the stench/filth of early London and its associated poverty. The ending leaving you hanging in mid air. Couldn't wait to get the sequal.

Having also read the prequel, I can say I enjoyed this book more. While some of the storylines are a bit contrived, the book is very readable and the main character, India, is likable. Not literature by any means but a good easygoing read. I'm sure I'll get around to eventually reading the next volume.
