If you are a true fan of "The Wire" and want to read an in depth book about the show and its' creators, skip this book. It is mostly filled with short recaps of the episodes and lots of fan blogs for each one. Buy "The Wire - Truth Be Told" by Rafael Alvarez instead. You'll be glad you did.
I was excited to read "The Guardian guide", but I can't see how this merits that title. It's largely a bunch of quick blog entries and user comments upon those blogs.
As already suggested: skip this, get "Truth Be Told" instead.
I bought this book as gift for someone who loved the show...and I gotta say it's not really a "guide" to the show. It's more of quotes from fan's and what they think are the greatest episodes or characters. I don't recommend this book, unless you absolutely must have every book on The Wire.
