5.0 out of 5 stars Silver Edition June 17, 2014

This Silver Box Edition includes the entire gameplay on one disc, instead of 2 like the normal enhanced edition. There is also a bonus disc that has no material relevant to actual gameplay.

While I never played the first Witcher game the sequel has shown it's power both in gameplay and graphics. The gameplay controls feel a mix of Batman Arkham series style and God Of War though with obvious differences too, the graphic detail throughout the game really brings you in as you can't help but want to look around for awhile which is actually approved and appreciated by the makers of the game as this isn't a linear game but and exploratory open world one. The main story and characters really make the game and addictive one where you find yourself playing for a few hours far longer then you'd thought. So if you like RPG games like Skyrim,Dark Soul and the like then this game is well worth a look too and for fans who already played the first two we can now rejoice as the third game is on its way for us to get soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid RPG May 19, 2014
By Zach
Solid RPG with a decent story. Your hand isn't held during missions so the payoff is gratifying. Combat tactics can be intimidating (certainly not like the Dark Souls franchise) but you can always play on an easier level if you'd like to just enjoy the story. The environments and scenery are really wonderful to explore.

4.0 out of 5 stars A strong RPG July 13, 2014
I enjoyed this game, I loved the setting, the world was rich and vast, and the lore was entertaining.
I loved the varied and vast monsters, and the combat system. It took some getting used to, but in the end it was a very satisfying experience when you triumphed over some of the more challenging monsters.
The thing I did not like about this game was the non customized class and appearance, and the rater linear approach of game play.
As I never played the first witcher, the initial few hours playing the assassin of kings was a bit confusing, as you are immediately thrust into a story that seems it had been already told to everyone but you.

4.0 out of 5 stars A decent offering for RPG lovers November 12, 2014
Verified Purchase
Witcher 2 has a great cast of characters and a rather good story. I won't spoil anything, but most players will enjoy the game. Locations are beautiful, interactive, and players that explore will be rewarded. The quests play out with a many solutions to most problems, similar to the Fallout series, there's usually more than 1 way to solve a quest. It's a very fun game, the cinematics offer a great look into Geralt’s life and story, and as well the voice work and music are well done too.

I took off one star, because while the combat IS very fun it has a tendency to get a little wacky at times. These errors show themselves in several ways: lock on attacks missing the enemy for no reason, basic enemy attacks suddenly doing monstrous amounts of damage (sometimes you'll take 2 hits and insta-die), and the occasional glitch where's enemies disappear or they don’t tell you how to kill specific enemies. More than likely you'll need to check and FAQ or guide. But continue on, there's a lot of fun to be had and a lot of choice to make.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looking forward to the 3rd game after playing this! January 10, 2015

Fun game, great storyline, now I'm ready for the third game to release! Combat takes awhile to master but it becomes fluid once you pass the learning curve. Graphics and storyline are not skimped on. Great voice acting as well. This was my first experience with the series and I ordered the 3rd game because I liked this one so much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Damaged but still good. April 24, 2015

Great game just got it a few hours ago and I can't put it down. But the reason for 4 stars not 5 is because when I got it the case was all busted up and there was a scratch on the disk, though all contents were included and the game works fine thus far so no big deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite 360 exclusive November 23, 2014
Verified Purchase
If Microsoft had advertised this game more, among a few others, they probably would've sold a lot more 360s. I have both PS3 and 360 so I get to play the exclusives from both systems. A lot of my friends play games less than I do so they only bought one system. Mainly, the PS3. It's all debatable about which game franchises are better, but when Microsoft dominantly boasted about Halo and Gears of War, many PS3 owners said 'who cares, we have Resistance and Killzone'. For me, it's the 360's ARPG exclusives that make it a great system to own. The Witcher 2 stands as one of the best in that category, if not the best. Any other games that I can somewhat compare it to are multiplats and therefore don't put a point in either company's campaign. It doesn't hold your hand getting started, but there is an in-depth tutorial level that you can choose to play or by-pass, and the first Act is a bit too much on the cinematic side, but once you get going, it's an absolute blast. The graphics are great, the action is fast and fun, and the story is interesting. This Silver Edition gives you the whole package and it's going for a bargain price, so anybody slightly curious about it should buy it and pat themselves on the back for buying a 360. I really hope that the Witcher 3 lives up to its potential.
