Elora Laiken broke Sir Storm's heart when she chose his best friend. Now the sexy vampire hunter wants nothing to do with love or even women for that matter. Litha Brandywine is a beautiful, independent witch who has other ideas.

When Storm arrives at headquarters of The Order in Edinburgh, where the witch tracker, Litha Brandywine, is currently assigned, she falls hard enough to be up for a test of wills. Though LItha might be perfect for the beautiful vampire hunter, he's hardened his heart and is determined that he won't be taking any chances on romance.
When B Team arrives in Edinburgh, the afterglow of a romantic elf tale wedding ends abruptly when Sir Kay's fiancé, Katrina, is kidnapped by a demon with a grudge. While Litha is assigned to search for the missing girl with Storm as her escort, other members of B Team are tasked with bringing in a stray werewolf who's been causing havoc in London.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another 5 stars for the B team! October 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Wow, Danann does it again. The lady knows how to weave quite the story. Filled with magick, love, and jealousy The Witch's Dream is a sweet and sexy good time :)

Picking up shortly after My Familiar stranger we get to dive right back into the world of the B Team. Ram and Elora are still going strong. We get an introduction to Kay's fiance and hilarious sisters. And thankfully Storm gets a love interest introduced. Poor guy had his heart broken when Elora chose Ram above him, so watching him struggle through loneliness and rejection was hard at the beginning. With the introduction of the enchanting witch Lithia he gets his well deserved chance at happiness.

I'd have to say that my favorite parts of The Witch's Dream revolved around Lithia's rituals with her magick. With Danann's background with Wicca/mysticism it was awesome to read. It left me wondering how much was based on factual Wiccan rites. As someone that enjoys reading about different religions I foresee a Wiccan fact finding mission in my future :)

If you adored My Familiar Stranger then you'll fall in love all over again with The Witch's Dream.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Great Paddy", You're Gonna Love It! October 8, 2012
By Nelta M
Format:Kindle Edition
"The Witch's Dream" is the 2nd book in Victoria Danann's Order of the Black Swan series...I would suggest reading "My Familiar Stranger" prior to reading "The Witch's Dream" to have a better understanding of the characters and storyline ....The second in the series continues and evolves with the same characters you grew to love and introduces you to new characters that only enhance the journey of Bad Company and will surely delight us in the next book....Ms. Danann's style captivates and brings you along for the ride. You find yourself laughing, giggling, holding your breath, and drawn into the lives of the characters. You are caught up in the hot and sexy world of vamps, elves, witches, demons, aliens and werewolves . It's quite the combination and it works ...
I thoroughly enjoyed reading both of the books in this series and can not wait to see what Ms Danann has in store for us next.
I received a free copy of this book from Ms. Danann in return for a honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good read November 12, 2012

Format:Paperback
This is the second book in The Order of the Black Swan series. Just finished The familiar Stranger and went right into the second book. So sad that the next one doesn't come out till February 2013! Again strong characters, funny dialog, made me snort and giggle more then a few times. The twists and turns, the romance, it was hard to put the book down when company came over. I had to sneak out every little bit to read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing! April 4, 2013
By GemmaA
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you read my review of the first book in the series, you'll know that I really enjoyed learning all about the Black Swan universe, and that my only complaint is how much of a Mary Sue Elora is. I still adored the characters, regardless, and felt that it was a well structured story so I was excited to read the second book in the series. Sadly, The Witch's Dream falls short.

This book is ALL over the place. It jumps from one thing to the next. There's no tension, no slow build of plot or romance. There's not even a real villain! In My Familiar Stranger, there was a wonderful slow build of Elora's recovery and discovery of her new world, followed by her induction into Black Swan, and then a tense vampire story line; all of this with an amazing and believable love triangle simmering in the background.

In this book, there's never any slow build. Litha loves Storm at first glance and, even though he is initially resistant, this didn't build any tension. In fact, it just made him seem like a child. Then we have the Incubus story line, which seems to set up a villain but then we discover his relationship to Litha and suddenly he's charming and sweet! Even better, he spoils her with money, lavish gifts, and unending praise. Not once does she deal with how he abandoned her or the fact that he feeds off human women, effectively ruining their chance of ever having another fulfilling sexual relationship! She just accepts him because. . . why? He buys her things?

Even worse, what were adorable quirky mannerisms of Ram and Elora in the first book often made them seem childish and spoiled in this one. The way they talk to people, fool around, act like children, and yet demand respect; it's silly.

**Solid 1.5 Stars**

This book was extremely disappointing for me.

For one, this book wasn't about Storm & Litha it was about what everything looked like & what everyone was wearing. In great detail, of every single paragraph I might add. And our beloved Ram & Elora took center stage in this one as well. While I love me some Ram, & his coupling with Elora was wonderful, FOR THEIR BOOK. They took up too much precious time in this one. And way too much of the spotlight from Storm & the development for he & Litha. But honestly the first 50% of this novel was given to the description of every single thing pertaining to furniture & clothing. WHO THE HECK CARES?! I'm all for set up & while this lyrical prose was more than welcome in book 1, it had no place in this book. It was way too drawn out. It caused the story to drag & to top it all off, it was pointless. If half the effort was put into the development of Storm & Litha's story & basically the whole plot for that matter, that was put into the description of inanimate objects, this story would have been beyond incredible & an added wonderful 2nd installment to this series.

The book started off with promise. You get a brief but informative background on Deliverance A new demon character who appears to be the central focus for the plot & for Litha. But you soon come to see just how badly the author drops the ball with this. Just how "simple" his place turns out to be within this story. How easy & utterly unbelievable (and not in a good way)& ANTI-CLIMACTIC, the turn of events become from his actions & the aftermath of all things that are resolved, or should I say NOT resolved....Mainly Kay & Katrina??? Where was Kay's reaction to when Litha came back?

More About the Author

USA TODAY Bestselling Author.

The Order of the Black Swan has won BEST PARANORMAL ROMANCE SERIES TWO YEARS IN A ROW (2013, 2014). Reviewers Choice Awards, The Paranormal Romance Guild.

Victoria writes cross-genre with uniquely fresh perspectives on paranormal creatures, characters, and themes. Add a dash of scifi and a flourish of fantasy to enough humor to make you laugh out loud and enough steam to make you squirm in your chair. Her heroines are independent femmes with flaws and minds of their own whether they are aliens, witches, demonologists, psychics, past life therapists, or financial analysts from Dallas. Her heroes are hot and hunky, but they also have brains, character, and good manners - usually - whether they be elves, demons, berserkers, werewolves, or vampires.

The first book of the Knights of Black Swan Paranormal Romance Series, My Familiar Stranger, was nominated for Best Paranormal Romance of 2012 by both Reviewers' Choice and Readers' Choice Awards. All of my books have opened on the Amazon Best Sellers list and earned Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK awards.

For books published in 2013, Black Swan won three awards. 1. Best Paranormal Romance Series 2. Best Paranormal Romance Novel - A SUMMONER'S TALE 3. Best Vampire~Shifter Novel - MOONLIGHT.

If you're interested in Victoria personally, she is also a classically trained musician who defected to Classic Rock music. She's the utility player which means she plays rhythm guitar, keyboards, sings back ups and a few leads. Her band has covered everything (note for note) from Styx to Led Zepellin to Rush.

She lives in The Woodlands, Texas with her husband and a very smart, mostly black German Shepherd dog.
