More About the Author

Victoria Danann is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of eleven romances.

Her Knights of Black Swan series won BEST PARANORMAL ROMANCE SERIES TWO YEARS IN A ROW (2013, 2014). Reviewers Choice Awards, The Paranormal Romance Guild.

Victoria's contemporary romance series is the Sons of Sanctuary MC, TWO PRINCES, Book 1 also contains the Prequel as a bonus.

Victoria's paranormal romances come with uniquely fresh perspectives on "imaginary" creatures, characters, and themes. She adds a dash of scifi, a flourish of fantasy, enough humor to make you laugh out loud, and enough steam to make you squirm in your chair. Her heroines are independent femmes with flaws and minds of their own whether they are aliens, witches, demonologists, psychics, past life therapists, or financial analysts from Dallas. Her heroes are hot and hunky, but they also have brains, character, and good manners - usually - whether they be elves, demons, berserkers, werewolves, or vampires.

The first book of the Knights of Black Swan Paranormal Romance Series, My Familiar Stranger, was nominated for Best Paranormal Romance of 2012 by both Reviewers' Choice and Readers' Choice Awards. All of her books have opened on the Amazon Best Sellers list and earned Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK awards. Many have appeared on Listopia BOOK OF THE MONTH as #1 across all genres.

For books published in 2013, Black Swan won three awards. 1. Best Paranormal Romance Series 2. Best Paranormal Romance Novel - A SUMMONER'S TALE 3. Best Vampire~Shifter Novel - MOONLIGHT. In 2014, Solomon's Sieve won Best Vampire Novel.

If you're interested in Victoria personally, she is also a classically trained musician who defected to Classic Rock music. Until 2013 she was the utility player for Houston's Roadhouse band, which means she played rhythm guitar, keyboards, sang back ups and female leads. Her band covered everything (note for note) from Styx to Led Zepellin to Rush.

She lives in The Woodlands, Texas with her husband and a very smart, mostly black German Shepherd dog.

Wow, Danann does it again. The lady knows how to weave quite the story. Filled with magick, love, and jealousy The Witch's Dream is a sweet and sexy good time :)

Picking up shortly after My Familiar stranger we get to dive right back into the world of the B Team. Ram and Elora are still going strong. We get an introduction to Kay's fiance and hilarious sisters. And thankfully Storm gets a love interest introduced. Poor guy had his heart broken when Elora chose Ram above him, so watching him struggle through loneliness and rejection was hard at the beginning. With the introduction of the enchanting witch Lithia he gets his well deserved chance at happiness.

I'd have to say that my favorite parts of The Witch's Dream revolved around Lithia's rituals with her magick. With Danann's background with Wicca/mysticism it was awesome to read. It left me wondering how much was based on factual Wiccan rites. As someone that enjoys reading about different religions I foresee a Wiccan fact finding mission in my future :)

If you adored My Familiar Stranger then you'll fall in love all over again with The Witch's Dream.

"The Witch's Dream" is the 2nd book in Victoria Danann's Order of the Black Swan series...I would suggest reading "My Familiar Stranger" prior to reading "The Witch's Dream" to have a better understanding of the characters and storyline ....The second in the series continues and evolves with the same characters you grew to love and introduces you to new characters that only enhance the journey of Bad Company and will surely delight us in the next book....Ms. Danann's style captivates and brings you along for the ride. You find yourself laughing, giggling, holding your breath, and drawn into the lives of the characters. You are caught up in the hot and sexy world of vamps, elves, witches, demons, aliens and werewolves . It's quite the combination and it works ...
I thoroughly enjoyed reading both of the books in this series and can not wait to see what Ms Danann has in store for us next.
I received a free copy of this book from Ms. Danann in return for a honest review.

This is the second book in The Order of the Black Swan series. Just finished The familiar Stranger and went right into the second book. So sad that the next one doesn't come out till February 2013! Again strong characters, funny dialog, made me snort and giggle more then a few times. The twists and turns, the romance, it was hard to put the book down when company came over. I had to sneak out every little bit to read.

If you read my review of the first book in the series, you'll know that I really enjoyed learning all about the Black Swan universe, and that my only complaint is how much of a Mary Sue Elora is. I still adored the characters, regardless, and felt that it was a well structured story so I was excited to read the second book in the series. Sadly, The Witch's Dream falls short.

This book is ALL over the place. It jumps from one thing to the next. There's no tension, no slow build of plot or romance. There's not even a real villain! In My Familiar Stranger, there was a wonderful slow build of Elora's recovery and discovery of her new world, followed by her induction into Black Swan, and then a tense vampire story line; all of this with an amazing and believable love triangle simmering in the background.

In this book, there's never any slow build. Litha loves Storm at first glance and, even though he is initially resistant, this didn't build any tension. In fact, it just made him seem like a child. Then we have the Incubus story line, which seems to set up a villain but then we discover his relationship to Litha and suddenly he's charming and sweet! Even better, he spoils her with money, lavish gifts, and unending praise. Not once does she deal with how he abandoned her or the fact that he feeds off human women, effectively ruining their chance of ever having another fulfilling sexual relationship! She just accepts him because. . . why? He buys her things?

Even worse, what were adorable quirky mannerisms of Ram and Elora in the first book often made them seem childish and spoiled in this one. The way they talk to people, fool around, act like children, and yet demand respect; it's silly.

This story continues from the events of the first book. It is best to read the books in order to see how the story and characters grow and develop. Believe me, you don't want to miss anything in this series.

In The Witch's Dream, we are introduces to Litha. She is part witch and part something else. She sees Storm from and distance and falls hard for him. Is it love at first sight? Well, maybe not at first sight because he has been coming to her in dreams and their paths have crossed in other ways. But from the first time she sees him, she knows he is the one. Storm however has closed off his heart and stubbornly refuses to see the truth in front of him. Sometimes he deserves a swift kick in the pants. However, his reactions are never unrealistic. He is just stubborn and deeply hurt.

This is a great addition to the series. Litha is strong and intelligent. Yes, she does take a lot of rejection from Storm without giving up. But she is never a doormat. She fights for what she believe in and for what she knows is true. She is also brave and unselfish enough to put the needs of others before her own. She agrees to stay with her father if he releases his prisoner even though that might mean leaving Storm and the world she knows forever. Then we get to know her father. When he first appears, I admit I really hated him. How he develops over the story is really remarkable. His wonder at finding that he has a daughter and his joy at doing things for her is truly a delight to read. It is his obvious pleasure in doing things for her and being able to give her things rather than the actual physical gifts that earns Litha love and trust. I wound up looking forward to his appearances.

What I also love about this series is while the major theme of the story may be about Litha and Storm, we do get the continuing tale of Elora, Ram, Blackie, Baka, and Kay. We also learn more about this universe and some of the neighbouring ones.
