Format: Hardcover
It took me a bit to realize what this book is covering, but if I had read the subtitle, Antiquity's Greatest Feats of Design and Engineering, it would have given me the larger picture. The standards are covered - Stonehenge, the Parthenon, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Sphinx, etc. But, added in are The Grand Canal (China), Borobudur (Java), The Rice Terraces of Banaue (Philippines), Horyu-Gakumonji (Japan), Tikal (Guatamala) and many other lesser known, but fascinating structures. This is a good browsing book with small maps, timelines, and at least a 4 page spread on each giving a description and history.

Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
I found the book very basic and has a short list of structures that are between Mesopotomia, Juresalam, upper Egypt, and one pyrimad of the Maya civilization. Nothing from China, India, Zimbabwi, Central Asia, etc.

It does not give more than simple sentences of superficial description.
