I was pretty far into the first book before it became clear that it was not the first in its series. I checked online and found this collection pulls from three different series (and some stand alone works). Most of the series works are out or order.
If you want to follow the correct order, try this:

Ross Murdock/Time War Series:
The Time Traders (1st in series)
The Defiant Agents (3rd)
Key out of Time (4th)
(series is 7 books long)

Solar Queen Series:
Plague Ship (2nd)
Voodoo Planet (3rd)
(series is 7 books long)

Drew Rennie Series:
Ride Proud Rebel (1st)
Rebel Spurs (2nd)

The other books are either the only entry from their series, or are stand alone works.

I feel that I should update my review based on a comment left by another reader. He pointed out that these books were converted to digital format by Project Guttenburg and then offered as a free download. I don't know who bundled these books and is collecting the proceeds of our purchases, but it is not the group that spent the time and effort to convert the books to digital form.

Based on this, I don't recommend purchasing this bundle. Each of the included books can be downloaded on Amazon for free. Get the individual works instead of paying for this bundle.

The "editor" of this collection is an incompetent scumbag who respects neither the author nor her readers and has almost certainly not read any of these books. The books are presented in alphabetical order, even though several are part of a series! The series are incomplete! Genres are mixed! And all of these books are in the public domain ... that's why they're "only" 99 cents! Please don't be a sucker or reward thieves ... do not buy this! You can get all these books for free from Project Gutenberg.

Update: You can now get all of Andre Norton's public domain books in individually downloadable Kindle editions from Amazon for $0.00

To those who defend these rip-offs: they are no different from advertising and selling government documents to unsuspecting people when the government offers those documents for free. It's legal but it's very sleazy. It's bizarre that anyone would want to defend being ripped off, but that's where a religious attachment to free-market dogma takes people.

I love Andre Norton and to me she is the Queen of Sci-Fi. That being said, this is one of the first books I purchased for my original Kindle and I didn't realize that this book was a compilation of public domain novels that are available on Project Gutenberg. Knowing that these books were recompiled public domain novels, later I repurchased versions of these books that were properly edited and also looked at Project Guttenberg's book list.

As far as the stories go they are great but I was disappointed to find incomplete series of novels presented and that it included genre other than Sci-Fi. I did give the stories 5 Stars but as far as the book is concerned I give it 1 Star. I am now much more careful when I purchase older material. I am surprised that Amazon allows public domain books to be sold in their store.

In Andre Norton's favor, I still love her work 50 years after I read it the first time!

I got this collection, started reading the first book, and finished the whole thing. At first I was annoyed with some formatting issues, and I wish they had put the books in a better order, but for 99 cents -- this was the best deal I've had in reading in a long time. I had not read any of these books before (and I've read a fair amount of her works, but I guess from a later period). They were all just delightful. This is leisure reading at its best. I cannot say I am improved by having finished them all, but God bless the good storyteller. It sure beats television.

Most of the Stories in this Collection are, as to be expected, Great. However, I have 3 Complaints.

First, I want Science Fiction in a Collection of Science Fiction and not all of the stories were Science Fiction. ("Ralestone Luck", "Rebel Spurs", "Ride Proud, Rebel"!)

Second, there were books from within a Series, but not all of the Books in the Series. ("Time Traders", "Defiant Agents", "Key out of Time" but no Book 2 - "Galactic Derelict". "Plague Ship" & "Voodoo Planet" but no Book 1 - "Sargasso of Space". "Star Born" but no Book 1 "The Stars are Ours". Same with "Storm over Warlock", no Book 2 "Ordeal in Otherwhere".)

Finally, it's a Collection. Collections sound like a great idea. Get lots of Books for the price of one. BUT when I want to read a Series, there's nothing to tell me which Books from a Series are in this Collection. Since buying this one, I've gone ahead and replaced all of the Series Books that are available with the Single Book. I'm keeping this one on my Kindle. But only because it has a couple of stand alone Books that I enjoy reading at times. ("The Gifts of Asti" and "Star Hunter".)

I just have to remember where they are when I want to re-read them!!!

The Kindle Version reads well. The Table of Contents works.
