The photography in this book is stunning; the added insight into what the photographers were trying to achieve (mood, market etc) is definitely an added bonus.

This is definitely NOT a "how to" book. Specific lighting details (lights, position etc) can be sketchy to almost non-exist. This is not a photography cookbook but more of a window in the vision of the photographers.

Highly recommended!

Interviews with several noted photographers, they talk about their jobs. The print quality is great. Is a good book for learning about portrait photography, and non/photographers can enjoy it too.

To put it succinctly, this is a book for people who are fascinated by celebrities. It can only be of passing interest to a photographer. This is a book of celebrity photographers taking photographs of celebrities. It's doubtful that any of these would have made it past a magazine editor had the subject not been a celebrity. I naively thought this was a book about portrait photography. Pass it by.

I was very happy with the service. The book arrived promptly in very good condition and at a fair price! The book itself has a great variety of photographs of all different types of people. The photographs themselves are excellent and show lots of different techniques. There is also lots of texts explaining the photographers creative process and what they are trying to achieve. It is a great book for anyone keen on learning how to take effective high quality portraits.
