"A rare amalgam of scholarly research with on-scene experience... Larry Grupp is a globetrotting author who spent nine years not only obtaining the firearms laws of 64 nations, but visiting most of them... Readers will see repeated denigration of the United Nations a treatment richly deserved for ever so many reasons, spanning decades. But one in particular merits mention: the UN Declaration of Human Rights omits any reference to self defense. It was adopted three years after World War II, when millions of unarmed civilians were slaughtered by friendly and foreign governments. Keep that in mind when reading The Worldwide Gun Owner s Guide and appreciate the nations where individuals still may bear arms." --Dillon's Blue Press
About the Author
Author Larry Grupp has 42 books and a long list of magazine articles to his credit. These cover a great variety of action topics including hunting and fishing, military history, weapons analysis and their place in military history and paramilitary actions, to political analysis and governmental affairs. Grupp has spent a significant portion of his career visiting actual battle sites, places of significant economic and social tumult and militarily and politically important locations throughout the world. At age 14 Grupp secured his first Federal Firearms License, which he has held for 58 years, leading to a lifetime of interest in guns, hunting, shooting, firearms collecting and retail sales. Nine years ago, author Grupp embarked on a great saga of assembling and analyzing rules and regulations relative to private gun ownership in countries around the world. This was partly in response to his distaste of the patently false claims made by anti-gun-rights activists, promoting a false notion that U.S. citizens are the only ones in the entire world that can freely and easily own private firearms. Information he compiled for this book comes straight from the sources. It had to it was not available from any other place not at the UN, not the U.S. State Department, and not from any national gun owners associations.
