The author of this manual follows the KISS principle: keep it simple, stupid! I found this book to be well-written with great examples, short, sweet, and to the point. If you've ever wanted to start your own worm farm (for whatever reason), Frank Randall delivers.

I picked this up for free during a Kindle promotion and, as I write this review, I see the pricing is now at $2.99 - if you are interested in getting into being a backyard (or garage) work farmer, the $2.99 will be money well-spent.

I've been looking for ways to increase the compost production for my backyard vegetable garden. This is it! I'm making a worm farm. I had always thought that worm composting was complicated, but after reading this book, I see that it really isn't. The author has done an excellent job explaining every step from setting up your worm bin to harvesting the compost. He gives many tips on how to keep your worms alive and happy, how to keep out ants and fruit flies, and how to create the optimum worm composting environment in your bin.

I plan to set up a worm composting bin and get my child involved in the feeding and care of the worms. What a great way to learn about organic gardening!

This book is well-written, to-the-point, and covers the topic thoroughly. I chuckled a few times, too. Highly recommended!

I wish I had this book six months ago. I work in a greenhouse and we tried to start some worms for compost...we actually did a couple of things right, but, in the end, the worms died. Probably because they didn't have enough food, were too cold (they were kept outside), didn't have any drainage, etc. There were SO many things we did wrong. This excellent book is comprehensive and tells you EXACTLY what to do (and not to do) when you work with worms. I would recommend this book highly to all my gardening friends and to those who want to start an organic garden (should there be any other kind? I think not!)Buy it now! Spring will be here soon!

This book is superficial and only covers the basics. I got the same info from the pamphlet that came with my bin. Author repeats the same info several times - this is frustrating and makes the book seem disorganized.

The book is very complete and well-written. It convinced me that worm composting was the best way to obtain great soil for my plants. However, it also convinced me that I don't want a worm bed. Too much work and too many variables.

This is a slim book that provides an inexpensive and quick introduction to vermiculture. I wanted just enough information to determine whether worms were a viable option for me. This book gave me exactly the right level of information to make that determination in ten minutes flat.
