5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Best March 12, 2012
By Norman
Format:Kindle Edition
Roger Brown's sense of humor and financial wit is incredible. His free market, self-reliant spirit, and no-excuses approach to life are pervasive in this wonderful little collection of his past writings. His view of regulation and government are to be cherished by all those of us who want markets to work. This should be a must read for students entering college, not just for business schools but all economic, public policy and planning programs as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money. March 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I'll tell you the secret behind this funny little book by my good friend Roger Brown. He has a serious book he wants to publsh. But the publisher of his last book is charging an exorbitant price for it. (I sympathize. So is mine.) So he decided to self-publsh something of no great consequence if it happens to get fouled up. He collected various satirical pieces he has published over the years e.g. in local newspapers and has published it under the title The Worst of the Best of R J B . Some of it betrays a hint of his free market philosophy, some of it pokes fun at academic pomp, etc. I don't know if the e-version includes the "quotes" on the back of the hard-covered version. They, by themselves, are worh the five bucks or so he and his supply chain divvy up for this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review of "The Worst of the Best of Roger J. Brown" January 29, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Mr. Brown is just about the funniest and has the sharpest and most sarcastic wit. I laughed out loud, well I at least chuckled a lot, all the way through most of his book. Also love his obvious political leaning. I might compare him with a Michael Savage in his cutting political sense.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful read March 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Do you love to read? If so, you will enjoy "The Worst of the Best of Roger J. Brown". It is a wonderful little book. The author gives the reader the opportunity to read essays, letters and notes that go back a number of years. The first section contains topics of interest to all - a vacation in Europe with his sister's children; his experiences in the middle of a fire that destroyed a substantial part of Southern CA, among others - all delightful. Some essays/articles challenge us to think about current issues from one who comprehends numbers and understands economics. Dr. Brown, a smart guy, has a clever sense of humor, and his writing style makes reading a pleasure. Yes, a wonderful book!
