I know exactly what you mean. I heard it on SGU as well... awesome episode too. But I digress, this song is one of those songs that you listen to... and you just get it... it makes sublime sense.

Well, let's just make it three....On the excellent Stargate Universe, I also became introduced to this song, also stuck in my head,and bought it, twice, and now the CD's as well. Since at least three of Flogging Molly's songs have graced the show, I've become quite a fan. Check them out!!
