5.0 out of 5 stars Less Pain, Less Embarrassment!
I used to dread having to fill up the car. I'd always leave it until it was on E, or until my husband happened to be driving it so I could ask him to do it. I dreaded it because every once in a while, I'd be stuck standing there at the pump, unable to turn the gas cap!

Arthritic pain in my wrist and fingers used to leave me feeling isolated, embarrassed and...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a universal gas cap wrench
Although not addressed in the description, this tool will not work on a gas cap with a wide turning bar. I purchased this for my elderly monther's Honda Civic and the the raised bar on the gas cap is too wide for the tool. It also would not fit on my Honda CR-V or Honda Fit. The product description should indicate that it fits caps with a raised bar under .xx inches wide.

I used to dread having to fill up the car. I'd always leave it until it was on E, or until my husband happened to be driving it so I could ask him to do it. I dreaded it because every once in a while, I'd be stuck standing there at the pump, unable to turn the gas cap!

Arthritic pain in my wrist and fingers used to leave me feeling isolated, embarrassed and worst of all - powerless. I'd stand there looking around for someone to help me while I tried to force it to turn. It really was awful...then one day I decided enough was enough. I was tired of feeling stranded at the gas pump. I figured, there had to be other people who had experienced this!

And, after a bit of research, I found this! :D It Works. It's compact enough to fit in the glove box, and no matter what my hands feel like, I no longer have any trouble with filling the car. Great purchase :D

5.0 out of 5 stars Arthritis helper, March 11, 2010

This review is from: Gas Cap Wrench
I got this gas cap wrench because my car's gas cap is sometimes very difficult to remove when pressure builds in it. I have a locking gas cap and it is often very hard to remove. After almost having to give up and get gas another day one time because the cap was so hard to remove and the arthritis in my finger to hand joints couldn't handle the strain much more, I decided I HAD to find something to use as a wrench for my gas cap or throw away that gas cap. My 22 year old daughter said she has a hard time getting my gas cap off too.

Happily, I looked on Amazon first and searched under "gas cap wrench" and found this product. The price was great if it worked...and it WORKS! I had thought I'd need something with a longer side handle or something, but this works like a charm. I realized afterwards that a long handle would be difficult to maneuver around the opened door on the gas tank entrance...whatever it's called. I just keep this handy device in my car to pull out when I get fuel and, wa-la! My hands are saved!
