very sweet story,

The Young Step-Mother is one of the best victorian stories i have ever read. It is sweet without being sticky, funny without being comedic, and touching throughout. It is the story of a young bride who marries an older man with 3 kids. She is so afraid the kids will not like her that she makes mistakes by giving too much in the beginning. She shows some weakness if she is pushed too hard by the children, and learns from her mistakes. The entire story-which is quite long-is interesting, as it portrays the Victorian Era truly in the sense of the wording of the story, the problems that it portrays, and the life of an upper class woman in the era. Great read!

This review is from: The Young Step-Mother (Kindle Edition)
While I do enjoy reading historical type fiction books, this one just drug along like cold molasses. The first part wasn't to bad, but I thought I was getting closer to the end and whoops! Only 1/2 way through.
