"Social Media Examiner gives this book 5 stars." - Social Media Examiner (in reference to 1st edition.)

"She provides detailed instructions for launching social media campaigns and sound guidance for fully leveraging and optimizing search engines, web sites, and blogs. VERDICT: Kabani’s assertion that this is 'the last social media guide you’ll ever need' has merit, as anyone purchasing this also has access to a continually updated online version. Highly recommended for anybody with anything to market online—including him- or herself."

We all want to connect with our customers and clients in a meaningful way online, but knowing how to do this across the different social media platforms is tricky! Thankfully, Shama has figured this out for us. The Zen of Social Media Marketing is packed full of tips, shortcuts, and step-by-step business savvy that you can't find anywhere else.

As the owner of a marketing business myself, I consistently reference this book for new ideas and strategies to use with my own clients. Each time I pick up this book, I have to put it down almost immediately so that I can get started implementing! There's so much juicy material in this book that I just bought the audiobook as well, so that I can be on the go and listen to it again and again.

Whether you're a solopreneur looking to grow your own business, or a marketing director for a large corporation, you'll get a lot out of this book. For small business teams, it's like having your own marketing team in a book!

Shama has done an outstanding job of clearly and concisely explaining how each of the social sites should be used effectively. As COO in a large financial firm I constantly work with social media on a daily basis. I am convinced after reading the book and using her strategies that not only does Shama articulate and understand social media marketing but she knows what it takes to execute in order generate leads, sales and positive exposure for any business. This a great read for a plane ride and extremely enjoyable!

I had initially read a library copy of this book. I was so impressed (and realizing that social media changes so quickly) that I bought 2 copies of the most current edition from Amazon. Why 2 copies? I wanted to make a gift to a business associate who is starting up a company and needs to build brand awareness.

There are probably others like me who avoided social media because all I ever saw was meaningless banter. However, I now realize how I've been missing the big picture. It is a practical communication tool that can help individuals (and their companies) build a global presence. I'm getting started with the ideas from the book, sharing my expertise in risk management. Thanks, Shama.

I wouldn't call myself an expert at social media because who really is? It changes every day. Overall this book has great tips and gives a really good insight of what you can expect from being on social media as a business. Some of the data is not up to date since the book is from 2010 and so much has changed in just two years. But put very simplistic and makes it easy for someone to launch social media themselves. Also has great insight from others in the industry or who have used social media.

I bought her first book with the same title and was completely impressed. So naturally when this book came out I had to have it. Once again, money well spent. You see I also help clients get their websites ranked and I feel you can never know enough. She really hits the mark. Great book

There's no question that social media has become a critical tool for businesses of all sizes to increase their visibility and with it, draw in potential customers for their products or services. Unfortunately, the increasing number of platforms, as well as the investment of time and resources to use them properly, has made adoption of these tools a challenge for many businesses.

That's where Shama Kabani's book "The Zen of Social Media Marketing" comes in handy. Not only does she provide comprehensive and detailed explanations of how to effective use the most popular social media platforms, but she also provides some valuable insights into both why businesses need to get onboard sooner than later and more importantly, what they should expect to accomplish from engaging with the public on these social outlets.

In her book, you'll not only learn how to effectively use Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn (and in this revised edition, Google+), but she also breaks down the world of blogging and search engine optimization (SEO) into simple, executable concepts that can immediately be put into practice to ensure your efforts pay off.

Whether your new to the social media scene, or are a current user of these online communication outlets, Kabani's book is a great read to learning how to be successful in using social media to share your message or story with those your business is hoping to reach.

In the past few years we have seen rapid changes in the way networks and humans interact. A few years ago you would not have thought that a book released in 2010 would need so many changes in the 2012 edition. As I tell my students at the Georgetown University where I teach, it is quite possible that as soon as the class is over the lesson could be redundant disrupted by 3 guys in a Panera or working out of a basement/garage releasing a new app or launching a network. The 2012 Zen of Social Media marketing has 10 case studies and many practical how to's. Shama answers many of the questions you have as you begin to unravel this new world of communication. I have read the 2010 edition and I am happy with the new 2012 edition of the book. I admire Shama for her achievements having met her when she was in graduate school and watched her setup The Marketing Zen Group and show success to her clients and grow. I would advice readers to continue to be in touch with the updates on [...] and Shama.tv

The chapter on Google Plus and the chapter on couponing and the list of tools the book has makes it well worth the read.
