There is a slightly religious tone to The Zombie-Driven life, which manifests itself through a group of survivors that Kenan meets whilst escaping the city with Katy. Through conversations with the survivor group, Kenan learns that the bug was created and distributed by a power-hungry Reverend and he sets out to exact his own revenge.

Novella's are a hard kind of story for me to get into. I love short stories but my preference is for full-length novels, so The Zombie-Driven life, whilst a quick read was also the type of story I would love to read in the full, fleshed-out version.

Mr. Wood writes clearly and succinctly - the dialogue is realistic and despite the opportunity to have some pretty cheesy moments, it wasn't difficult to take the characters seriously. I particularly liked Kenan as the slightly geeky boy who comes to realise some pretty awesome things about himself and gains confidence throughout the story.

I like the original name for the zombies used in this story (you want to know, read it and find out!) and the characters are surprisingly well fleshed-out (pun intended) for a novella. If you haven't read a zombie book before, and aren't really sure if it's for you, give The Zombie-Driven Life a try - it may just set you on the road to obsession!

I purchased this book for my daughter and she liked it so much she wanted to post a review. Here it is (Including the review title):

"The Zombie Drive Life was epic! I mean, in any book about zombies, there are really only so many big killings you can do...this one had just the right amount. I also love the concept of 'What's the purpose?'

A true five star book in my opinion and can't wait to see if he can write a sequel just as good."

I really enjoyed this book! Although The Zombie-Driven Life is not my typical go-to book, this coming of age tale set in the middle of a zombie apocalypse was wonderfully entertaining. Teen aged Kenan is trying to find his place in a world where even the remaining humans are suspect. Kenan asks the age old question, "why am I here?" while battling flesh-eating monsters. Written in the style of Rick Warren's A Purpose Driven Life, Dave Wood's book is a wonderfully written, action-packed, fun read that I could not put down until I finished it!

Wood paints a horrific scenario of a world in ruin and a few survivors struggling to find safe havens and a reason to carry on. Powerful and disturbing by turns, with plenty of black humour along the way. A Zombie-Driven Life is a great read.

This was an enjoyable short story, obviously the title lets you know that it is set in the zombie apocalypse. It has a touch of everything you want from a short story, details, action, romance, drama and an explanation.
