I was very surprised to see the other review for this book, but then I saw the line about the person NOT owning it. I preordered this book, and like the other reviewer, felt that the recipes would be the same...however, I forgot to cancel the preorder, so lo and behold, it arrived at my house in mid-December. This has become my FAVORITE diet cookbook! Unlike the South Beach Diet cookbooks, which contained laundry lists of ingredients and yielded usually unflavorful dishes, the Alli Cookbook contains (1) many, many more recipes than are found in the main book--250 pages of recipe text alone, (2) food for a large variety of tastes including vegetarian, (3) carefully thought out and easy to prepare dishes, (4) creative and interestingly seasoned dishes, and (5) dishes you would never think you would find in a diet cookbook. I am somewhat of a picky eater when it comes to "healthy foods" and I was still able to find dozens of recipes to suit my tastes. The bottom line is that this cookbook has helped me succeed on the Alli plan by adding needed variety and easy-to-cook dishes to my meal plan -- so much so, that even when I get busy and forget to take the pills for several days, I still lose weight and almost never feel deprived. I don't think I would be at the point in the diet with the recipes in the Alli Diet Plan book alone, and I credit this cookbook. (Since starting the diet in mid-November, I've lost 15 pounds, even with some cheating around the holidays, and I'm within 10 pounds of my overall goal.) If you want to enhance your chance for success on the Alli plan and want to enjoy some really flavorful dishes, you need to add this book to your Alli toolkit!

I was slightly disappointed with this book. A few years ago I bought the book Cooking Thin with Kathleen Daelemans. Her book was amazing and full of interesting, unique, simple dishes. When I saw that she was one of the contributing chefs for the Alli cookbook, I bought it even though I'm not following the Alli plan. The recipes in this book seemed pretty much like the recipes you would get in any diet book. There was nothing I found too interesting.

Another downside for the people who are actually following the Alli plan is that the nutrition facts included are for a complete meal, not just that recipe. For example, if you're cooking the chicken in red wine sauce, they recommend completing the meal with a medium baked potato, a tablespoon of low-fat sour cream, a cup and a half of mesclun salad with fat-free Italian dressing, swiss cheese, and slivered almonds. While I like that they include recommendations on how to finish the meal, they include all of those components in the nutrition facts. So you have no idea what the numbers are on just the chicken in red wine sauce.

I love this cookbook I started the alli april 15th 2009 and I feel great! I have 3 children and never lost weight after having my kids. I finally decided to try alli.
At my heaviest I weighed 203 lbs I have lost a little, but i think it is far more healthier to lose slowly then too fast. the recipes in this book are great. yes you must change your life style. you have to want to commit to change with the alli though there are some side effects called treatment effects to me that just tells me i am eating toooooooooo much fat.
THE Alli cookbook is fun to use with kids there are recipes in this book that kids can help you prepare my two oldest are very picky an don't get enough veggies but with this they don't even know they're getting their veggies and it's healthy and they don't even know it 's health food i have my whole family eating better foods 4 them and making better choices.

THIS BOOK IS A MUST IF YOU DECIDE TO GO ON ALLI ANOTHER GEAT BOOK IS:THE ALLI DIET PLAN THE ESSENTIAL GUIDE TO SUCCESS WITH ALLI BY CAROLINE APOVIAN M.D.

Great book but some receipes you really need to tweak to make them fit your taste buds as some are a little tasteless. Over all an excellent book. There is a reference for eating out in the back. My only complaint is that it should be small enough to put in your pocket or purse.

This cookbook is worth buying even if you are not on the Alli Program. The recipes are healthy as well as tasty. All of the recipes are reduced fat. Glad I bought it!

This is a cookbook for dieters, yet ALL the recipes are for an extraordinary amount of servings. Some recipes make 12 servings, and very few 4 or less servings. Now I ask you, if you are on a diet, wouldn't you just want to cook and make 1 or 2 servings at the most? The more you cook the more you eat + the more food you see the more tempting it is to eat it fresh and not save any for tomorrow. This is the ONE flaw all contributors to this book made. In my opinion, all these recipes should be single serve.

While this cookbook contained many delicious sounding recipes, I found it annoying that it didn't really specify how many exchages you would be consuming per serving.

On the plus side the recipes seem fairly easy to follow and were illustrated with great photos.

The tear out resaurant guide was nice but certainly too large to carry in my pocket or purse.
