I enjoy this little jam packed reference book for those simple quick look-ups rather than pulling out the many Big books from my writing library. I keep this one at my side, and I keep referring this book to my co-authors as a must buy, and if they have NO other book, then this one is a must. It is reasonably priced and small enough to take to the coffee houses with your laptop, and I do that all the time! I love this book! Succinct, precise, great examples of proper English grammar, punctuation and more.

As a Pro book editor, I do recommend this book to the rising numbers of Indie eBook authors whose books are usually written using almost deplorable English. They either need to pay for editing of their eBooks, or learn how to do their own editing. It can be done! They need this book, desperately, and they need to actually use it once they get it!

I've loved this little volume for years and given it as a gift to many people. It's good for high school students. It's simple but packed with information. if you want a really comprehensive book on grammar, punctuation, capitalization, etc., get something such as the the latest Gregg Reference Manual. That's a superb publication. But for something lightweight to carry around, The Elements of Grammar is a great little booklet. Do not confuse this with The Elements of Style, that classic booket on style, by Strunk & White. This is a wonderful little companion volume to that.

Book description is inaccurate. Advertised as 6th edition. Instead, it is a 6th Printing (I guess). Entire book identical word for word to my original edition! However, I returned the book and seller gave me full refund, no questions. So -- Book poor, Seller excellent.

I keep this as a desktop reference, and have for a number of years. I now buy these for all my sons' friends as they go off to college. It's just an excellent, easy-to-use language and grammar reference.
