Part classical celtic, part melancholy drinking song, this is a beautiful piece of music with significant instrumental and vocal sections. I've listened to it over and over. The music is classical-leaning enough that those who do not generally favor celtic music might find this to their liking.

When I first saw WND in the theatre over a decade ago, I was awe-struck. The film felt almost magical to me. And, just as you think it can't get any better, you are proven wrong. The Parting Glass would never have been a catchy tune in my head were it not for this version. I have since found a like for the traditional version, but this version fights a good fight for being my all-time favorite song. And I like a lot of great music! I have performed this on Irish whistle and recorder at funerals and memorials. I actually have a medley that goes along with Amazing Grace. Made myself cry at one funeral. This is a song that I can listen to time and time again without boredom. Hear Me would be another of the greats. If you want a great selection, pick up the full soundtrack. But, surely, if nothing else... The Parting Glass is a must have.
