Bob Mumford Biography

BOB MUMFORD is a dynamic Bible teacher with a unique and powerful gift for imparting the Word of God. His anointed messages are remembered years afterwards, because he captivates his audiences by humor in the form of word pictures, which penetrate deep into hearts with incredible authority, clarity and personal application. Since 1954, thousands of Christians worldwide have attributed their spiritual growth and determination to follow Jesus Christ to his prophetic teaching, helping them understand Father God and His Kingdom.

Bob has written for major Christian periodicals both in the United States and abroad and published several books including The Mysterious Seed, Nourishing the Seed, Agape Road, Take Another Look at Guidance, The King & You, Fifteen Steps Out, Living Happily Ever After and The Purpose of Temptation. He has also published numerous booklets called Plumblines, including Surrendering Ungoverned Desires, a series on Inheritance, and Frankenstein and World Systems.

Bob has a heart for backsliders, having come to the Lord at age 12 only to stray from God a few months later. During this time, when he was 13, his parents divorced creating the need to quit school and work to help support his mother and five sisters. At 20 years old, he joined the U.S. Navy as a Medic. Bob would go with his Navy buddies to the bar and end up preaching to those in the bar the necessity to repent of their sins and come to Christ. Even then Father God was pursuing him!

While on leave from the Navy, Bob attended a church service one evening. He was overcome by the conviction of the Holy Spirit and literally ran to the altar. After being away from God for 12 years, the Lord cleaned up his heart and gave him new purpose and direction, calling him specifically to "Feed My people."

After completing his High School education in the Navy and then graduating with a Bachelor of Science from Valley Forge Christian College, Bob Mumford attended the University of Delaware and then received his Masters of Divinity degree from Reformed Episcopal Seminary in Philadelphia. Over the years, he has served as a pastor, as Dean and Professor of New Testament and Missions at Elim Bible Institute. In 1972, he founded Lifechangers, Inc. to distribute his teaching materials all over the world where he has traveled extensively to some 50 nations as an international conference speaker. His materials have been translated into more than 20 different languages.

Today he is considered to be a spiritual "Papa" to thousands of Christians. His ministry has been to prophetically proclaim and teach the sufficiency of Christ Jesus and His Kingdom in a manner which promotes reconciliation and unity in the body of Christ. Bob seeks to bring about personal spiritual change and growth in the lives of believers, regardless of denominational persuasion. His unique style of humor is designed to keep you smiling so it isn't too painful when the truth of his teaching hits home. Such high intensity in the Holy Spirit, accompanied by his pointed and colorful delivery, enables him to impact his audiences with an unforgettable and life-changing experience.

Bob and his wife, Judith, reside in Raleigh, North Carolina. If you would like to receive information on Bob Mumford's ministry Lifechangers, or a catalog of materials available, you can write to him at:

Being the sinful creatures we are, God gets the blame for everything, including the temptations that come our way. Mumford shows how it's our own faults if we succumb to them, not our parents' fault, society's fault, or even the devil's. Full of examples from Scripture, including the Israelites' repeated failures, which he examines in detail for present day believers to hopefully avoid the same "laps around the mountain."

This book captures the essence of Romans Chap 5 and in a very understandable way explains just how tribulations works to help grow. As we face each trial in our life we are faced with the choice of will I believe God or will I believe what I see or think I see. This simple little bgook has been a wonderful blessing to me and my sons. They are now sharing the book with their children.
