About the Author

Unfortunately we know little about Mrs. John Le Breton. She may have written other books, but we have been unable to find them. She likely lived in England, since the book was first published there. Clearly she was well educated in both traditional subjects and metaphysics. Her legacy in this book is both a mystery and a revelation of the mystery of intuitive powers.

Monte Farber, with his wife Amy Zerner, is the creator of many oracles and spiritual aids, including The Psychic Circle, Gifts of the Goddess Affirmation Cards, and many more. Together they are the authors of Light, Laughter, and Love: Secrets of the Enchanted Couple (Red Wheel, 2002), the inspirational story of an enchanted 30-year partnership in life and work, with ideas and advice for readers, forthcoming from Red Wheel. They live on Long Island, NY. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

First published in 1919, this oracular book was lost for many years. It has been brought back by Red Wheel/Weiser for all of us to have and to use as a wonderful guide for divination.
Monte Farber writes a beautiful introduction, bringing together all the pieces to the puzzle of what is known as "The Tablet of Jupiter." Mrs. John Le Breton gives us this magickal oracle based on nine of the astrological signs and seven planets. For this reason it is believed "The Tablet of Jupiter" dates back to the middle ages. But can it be used today, in everyday life? Not only can it, but it does. I use it every morning and it hasn't failed me yet.
Pick up The White Magic Book each morning and let it guide you through the day. No matter the tool of divination you use, from tarot or crystals to scrying, this oracle is the one to use. Whether you are a beginner or an adept, this book is one of the easiest to use.
M.L. Benton, Publisher, Echoed Voices.

Don't be misled by the title to think that this is some sort of hocus-pocus nonsense. My late grandmother introduced me to this book over 20 years ago in a well-used fragile state. The foreword was in tatters. I have since bought this version albeit 5 years ago and have it by my bedside, occasionally delving into it. I only recently however, decided to read the foreword again. I have now realised what this book is about: It is a guide to using your gift of thought and how to turn those thoughts into reality. In a sense this is a training manual to help you realise your true potential. Before going straight to the how-to-use part, read the foreword to really appreciate what this book has to offer.
Incidentally, I was also introduced to `The Secret' by Rhonda Byrne which made me realise that I have had these tools to grow and achieve all along in `The White Magic Book', I've just never really understood them.
I would recommend both `The White Magic Book' as a source of fun and a guide and `The Secret' to truly understand your gift. I would recommend the feature length movie version of `The Secret' for those of you more receptive to visual and audio stimulus. To the open mind, both will have a profound affect on your life, whether you want it to or not.

The White Magic Book by Mrs. John Le Breton was first published in 1919. This edition published by Red Wheel has the introduction written by Monte Farber, who does a very good job explaining what the book is and why it is so great. Fortune telling for yourself and friends or family is actually quite easy with this book, and more fun than you realize at first - because it really does work (at least it did for me)!

The White Magic Book is a handy little oracle or fortune telling book that is so fun to use. Of course before you jump right into figuring out your future, you do have to read about the book to be sure to use it correctly. If you don't, all of the symbols and numbers won't mean much to you, and you won't use it right. Don't worry though - it isn't that much to read and the information covered in it (including the introduction) is very enjoyable to read.

The pre-selected questions were originally written in 1919, but they can still be adjusted to work in modern times. When I used the book to ask questions about situations popping up in my life, I didn't have any issues finding a similar question that would work with it.

The answers to the questions that you can select for each question would be hard to pre-select before you flipped to the corresponding page, so each one is honestly not going to be unconsciously chosen by you when picking out the symbol (especially if you pick the symbol with your eyes closed). I found this process to be fun and unique and looked forward to finding my fortune on the pages.

I really enjoyed this fortune telling book experience and highly recommend it for anyone who likes books like these. It would also make a very cool birthday present for people who also like items such as this as well.

I've got 2 copies of this book now, one of which is a 1st edition.
It's very accurate I find but tricky to use due to the complex lookup tables.
The 96 questions are spread over a couple of pages with no categorisation making it hard to find a previously used question again.
Once you've selected your symbol the look up tables and the numbering system make it somewhat laborious.
Someone's created a mobile App version of the book which is available for Apple iOS devices.
The App much better as it does so much more.
It splits the 96 book questions into categories, allows you to save your answers to look back on, shuffles the Tablet of Jupiter each time you use it and now a recent update includes the ability to create your own new questions with answers.
Buy the book and but use the App!

My husband actually remembers reading through this book at his auntie's house in England about 40 years ago! When we were reminiscing with his father last summer, we were reminded of it. We ordered it and we have fun reading through it each night.
