This is a good collection of jazz-rock fusion tunes by a group of musicians that never fail to impress. This genre of music can sometimes be let down by mundane compositions or endless noodling that becomes redundant but CAB have always managed to remain exciting and enjoyable. The tunes are well constructed and performed with lots of sonic energy and good clean production. I'm a big fan of Tony Macalpine and Virgil Donati so their presence here is the reason to buy for me. Their work in other styles of music is equally impressive but it's great hearing them lay down some fusion tracks with great playing and melodies. Song highlights include the groovy and melodic "Just Do It" and the funky track "The Prankster". The artwork on the CD sleeve is impressive too. Recommended to fans of fusion who want to hear something fresh.

Yet another divine album by CAB. That band just rocks! Their music leads your imagination to unbelievably beautiful places.
In Theathre De Marionnettes you can enjoy the awesome play of Virgil Donati on the drums and some really great compositions by Tony Macalpine (as usual), such as Purple Mars, for instance. Great musicians, great album!

CAB Does It Again!,

CAB is one the best jazz-rock fusion bands around, and this CD shows why. Some fusion tunes are not very good compositions. That is not the case here: the tunes are well conceived and well played.
The three core members are all at the top of their game. Bunny Brunel is a monster bass player, Tony McAlpine ia a master shredder, and Virgil Donati is a contemporary drumming great. Guests include Chick Corea, Brian Auger, Patrice Rushen, and Michael Polnareff. If you like fusion, buy this.

I have all of CAB's stuff but I think this is my least favorite. Not very interesting melodies. CAB 4 was my fovorite, it felt like a lot of effort went into the arrangements. I find I don't even want ot listen to this one at all.
