The unit worked right out of the box, installation was easy and quick. I installed 4 3Tb "RED" drives in a raid 5 configuration. After about a week I noticed that the drives in slot 1 had failed. I powered down the system and reseated the drive and it started up, rebuilt the raid and everything worked just fine. No data was lost. Over the next month this happened several times. I contacted Thecus support and they walked me through several troubleshooting steps. When we could not resolve the problem they sent me an RMA to return the unit. Since the problem seemed intermittent, I decided to give it one more try before returning the entire device. Bottom line was one of the drives would not spin up when it was cold, but would the second time I tried. The drive was under warrantee, I replaced the drive and no problems since.

The Thecus support was very helpful and stayed with me though out this issue. Based on my experience, I would defiantly purchase another Thecus device.
