I had original bought this book, along with Blood Rite, also by the same author. I didn't quite enjoy Blood Rite, and I was going to return both books, for fear of being disappointed yet again. However, one night I decided to give this novel a chance. Nevertheless, I was adequately flabbergasted.

The eroticism that filled the pages within this novel, left me utterly sedated with my many releases. Literally after reading just two pages of Sam, Kaycee, & Tyler's lovemaking, my libido was in hyper-drive, exasperatedly awaiting my own gratification.

I relished the fact that it was somewhat normal to possess an immense amount of amorousness for two other people at the exact same time, and to love them equally as well, with absolutely no injustice done to either partner.

WELL DONE MS. MICHAELS, THIS NOVELS DESERVES WELL BEYOND A 5 STAR RATING!

4.0 out of 5 stars Their One and Only, August 23, 2008

This review is from: Their One and Only (Paperback)
Kaycee Alcott has managed by miraculous efforts to survive the two most horrific days she could ever imagine. She was drugged and kidnapped by a deranged maniac with a fixation on her model beauty. He had previously taken other women that resembled her, and she found one of the other women being held, but was unable to rescue her when she attempted escape because her injuries were too severe. Kaycee managed to stab her captor, and escape stumbling through the woods until she literally fell on to the highway in front of an oncoming car.

Sam and Tyler Warren are identical twins that had been profiling her case. They are also psychics working for the FBI, and had been instrumental in helping to identify Kaycee's location. Tyler had felt an instant powerful connection with Kaycee, and one he was determined to explore. Sam was not happy, and was further dismayed to discover their next assignment. After she was released from the hospital, Sam and Tyler were appointed her protectors until her abductor was captured. Tyler was thrilled with the responsibility, and the potential of what could be. The brothers had a secret that they would have to make her understand. It was not common knowledge, but they always share women. It went beyond just a simple ménage because the brothers were also psychically connected, and that had made all women in the past flee.

Kaycee didn't understand her incredible attraction to both brothers. With her recent attack, it frightened her on many levels. While they never pressured her, neither did they disguise what they wanted from her. When they succumbed to their combined lust, it was life changing for them all. Little did they know that the threat to Kaycee was about to make an appearance again.

This is a very suspenseful erotic read that kept me guessing until the very end. Kaycee is a complex heroine that didn't realize her strength until she had to rely on it in order to survive. Sam and Tyler give what everyone wants in their life, and that is unconditional love. The fact that they are twins is just a bonus! An emotional compelling story that you don't want to miss!!

Kaycee Aloctt, a model was abducted by a serial killer, named `the phantom', after a photo shoot. Twin brothers, Sam and Tyler Warren are FBI profilers use their psychic ability to get into the mind of victims. The brothers can also feel each other's fears and each other's conflicts. If one falls in love, then so does the other. When they connect to Kaycee Tyler felt possessiveness, belonging which suggests she's the one. Sam disagrees, she lives a very public life - one where having two husbands would be impossible.

Tyler decides that they are going to protect her; so they take her to their ranch house in the small town of Dumas, Texas. Sam wished he tried harder to talk Tyler out of bring her here, but their boss, Agent Barreck had insisted he wanted them in charge of her protection. They hadn't met a woman yet who could handle both of them, it just wasn't ever going to happen. They would fall in love with her and like the other before she would be unable to commit to a ménage relationship - they would just end up hurt. Tyler wasn't without his own doubts - would she run like all the others -- afraid she wouldn't be able to handle both him and his brother? He knew they were demanding, dominant, and aggressive.

I was surprised that this story had a strong storyline. In most exotic romances the plot takes a back seat to the sexual situations - the plot and the very intense sexual situations complimented each other perfectly. Exceptional.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot sex and simple but likeable characters, August 26, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Their One and Only (Paperback)
Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 7/10

PROS:
- The action starts almost as soon as you learn the heroine's name; she's kidnapped on page 4, and the plot is fairly fast-paced for several chapters after that.
- The sex scenes are very hot. I was a little disappointed in the order of them, though: there's a real bell-ringer of a sex scene at one point, but it's only a little over halfway through the book, so everything after it falls a bit short.
- Parts of the plot/premise are interesting. I liked the idea of twins who were so psychically connected that they could connect to others as well. The fact that they could see Kaycee's initial escape from her kidnapper was interesting to me.
- The story's conclusion is sweet, sweet, sweet.

CONS:
- The relationship is just a touch strange. I sort of understand ménage relationships in which each person is equally attracted to the other two, but relationships like this one, in which two of the people aren't physically attracted to each other, are weird to me. I just don't get how jealousy wouldn't enter into the equation. Michaels says repeatedly in this story that there's no jealousy, though, so mostly I believed her.
- Kaycee's escape from the killer's lair at the beginning of the book, which leads her into the two brothers' protective arms, is pretty heart-pounding and exciting. The tension builds with every sentence and the guy just keeps. coming. back. But then the book's FINAL confrontation is over pretty quickly. The description of the climactic scene is about half the length of the book's first escape scene.
- A few of the scenes describing the serial killer's actions are disturbing and a little hard to read.

Overall comments: If you're open to reading about ménage relationships at all, you'll probably like this. The sex scenes are really something, though I must admit that I've read very little m/f erotica, much less m/f/m. Both of the male characters are extremely thoughtful and generous, though, and the heroine is strong and spunky, so overall I enjoyed this quite a bit.

1.0 out of 5 stars Implausible, with two incredibly stupid "heroes"., November 26, 2011

Okay, I love a good escapist ménage story as much as the next reader, but this one had so many plot-holes I just couldn't get into it.
As far as erotic romance goes, THEIR ONE AND ONLY actually isn't that steamy compared to others I've read. It's slow to build, with a serial killer storyline I was enjoying at the beginning (unoriginal as it is for this kind of book).

The love scenes are nothing new. They're not bad, but a little clunky at times, and there're so many typos and there's so much poor grammar I had trouble concentrating.

There's no way to explain why I don't believe this book deserves more than one star without giving spoilers, so be warned!

Sure, many people are reading this only for the relationship, but is it really too much to ask for the author to get some basic facts straight too? We, after all, pay to read these books.

For example:

* Our two heroes, Tyler and Sam, are identical twins and also FBI agents. Psychic too. However, they seem to only work for the FBI whenever they feel like it, and spend the rest of their time running an isolated ranch in Texas.
Ah, yeah. Okay.
That's how being An FBI agent works. It was like they weren't sexy enough unless they filled a number of stereotypes: cowboy, law enforcement, paranormal hero, sexy brothers.

* Then our trusty serial killer comes looking for our heroine, Kaycee. Who's a supermodel, naturally, and yet is still described as being curvy for a model and yet having a "tiny body" and "small hands". Uh, the last time I checked, models were enormously tall, and being curvier than other models rules out the concept of "tiny".

* But I'm going off-track. My issue with the serial killer tracking this "tiny" yet busty swimsuit model is that he finds her by asking one person one question.
Kaycee was taken in to protective custody by the FBI, and yet all the killer has to do to find her is to go to the hospital where she was taken and ask where she was?
And then the nurse not only TELLS HIM when she checked out, but also TELLS HIM who she left with?
Why do these FBI agents have their farm and their names on the internet anyway?

* Then our serial killer (who, by the way, has no military or law enforcement background) manages to get into the safehouse and execute someone and kidnap good old Kaycee the supermodel while our two ever so heroic heroes sit in a room down the hall? What kind of safety were they providing?!

One thing relating directly to the relationship - that I hated - was that Kaycee nearly died at the end of the book, and while she's coming out of surgery Tyler and Sam make the decision to abandon her in the hospital. If she wants them, she can come to them, they decide.
I've got to say that if the men who supposedly wanted to spend their lives with me took off to another state while I lay dying in the hospital - not even calling once! - then I would certainly not be going to them. EVER.
But of course she returns for the **Super-Spoiler!!** obligatory happy ending, which - of course - involves Kaycee pregnant with twins. I saw that one coming before I even began the book.

Am I picking apart the wrong things? Possibly. But there are erotic romances out there where the non-relationship part of the plot actually makes sense, and where the characters aren't so stupid it pulls me out of the story.

This was disappointing, as I bought it based on the sample, which really drew me in.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies, October 28, 2008
This review is from: Their One and Only (Paperback)
Sam and Tyler Warren have been involved in missing person cases since they were young boys. Able to touch a missing person's garment and tell whether or not that person is alive and what that person is feeling, Sam and Tyler are unprepared for the range of emotions they encounter when they telepathically link with missing model Kaycee Alcott.

Kaycee has been kidnapped, beaten, and drugged. At the first opportunity, she is able to escape but just barely. Waking up in a local hospital, Kaycee can't give any clues to her kidnapper and finds herself experiencing nightmares and post traumatic stress. She also finds herself attracted to the men assigned to her case, identical twins Sam and Tyler Warren.

Sam and Tyler get their supervisor's approval to remove Kaycee from the hospital and transport her to their home. There she will be safe until she can recall details of her kidnapping. It is also there that the twins hope she will realize that in loving and being attracted to one twin, she just might be attracted to both - because with Sam and Tyler, it is all or nothing. The woman who falls in love with one of them must fall in love with both of them. Now all they have to do is keep her safe long enough for her to fall for them because they have no doubts that she is THEIR ONE AND ONLY.

I love the premise and plot of THEIR ONE AND ONLY. Twins fascinate me tremendously and I have always wondered, "What If?" Sam and Tyler individually are different; one is hard, the other softer. One is very dominant, the other is a peacemaker. Together they are a force to be reckoned with and I found myself in awe of Kaycee's ability to hold them off as long as she does. I would have fallen after the first kiss.

As far as contemporary ménages go, THEIR ONE AND ONLY is a perfect look at that type of lifestyle. I loved everything about this book and can't wait to reread it. THEIR ONE AND ONLY is available at Loose Id.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Read, December 13, 2008
This review is from: Their One and Only (Paperback)
Interesting story line, but would have liked to read more from the brothers' persectives.

I like the fact that it doesn't take forever to get the plot rolling, though- that's a major plus. And the intimate scenes are pleasing and vivid at times.

One drawback-the villain/antagonist wasn't complex enough for me. Either things were made too easy for him, there wasn't enough conflict, and/or the character was predictable.

Otherwise, for a good weekend read, I would recommend this! Yay!

5.0 out of 5 stars Their One and Only, July 30, 2008
This review is from: Their One and Only (Paperback)
Model Kaycee Alcott has been drugged and kidnapped. She awakens in a cave staring at the face of another victim of her captor. Kaycee manages to escape though. Identical twins Sam and Tyler Warren are registered psychics working for the FBI. They are asked to help find Kaycee after she is reported missing. Sam and Tyler have a very unique bond, aside from feeling each others emotions; they need to share their women. Once Tyler taps into Kaycee's mind he recognizes that she is the one woman meant for them, so the brothers track her down and become her protectors. Kaycee struggles to heal from her ordeal while coming to terms with her feelings for the men. While Sam, Tyler and Kaycee are forming a bond, Kaycee's stalker is forming a plan to take her back.

In Their One and Only, two sexy cowboys claim one lucky woman. Kaycee is a sweet girl and Sam and Tyler are very hot. I couldn't get enough of Sam and Tyler and the identity and actions of Kaycee's stalker fascinated me. Their One and Only is a good, suspenseful story. Note: Kaycee's stalker's twisted activities are sometimes graphically depicted.

Trista, honey "coral" is a form of sea life. You meant to say "corral". If you write about ranching there are some things you have to get right. The story was good but that was a consistent error that pulled me out of it many times.
