Good, but could have been better,

This review is from: Thelma & Louise: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I loved the film, and enjoy listening to the songs on the CD. However, I think the soundtrack could have been much better by having more of the original score included on the CD. The score really was the best music in the film.

Disappointed,
By Michael Sheriff (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Thelma & Louise: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I loved the movie and the haunting twangy guitar music of Hans Zimmer & co, but the CD has only a few bars of this in "Thunderbird", at the beginning. This is such a shame as this could have been a monster hit in its own right if it had been developed and recorded seperately. Huge mistake by MCA.

This soundtrack is missing its crown jewel: The "Thunderbird" Theme!,

This review is from: Thelma & Louise: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Like so many other reviewers of this "Thelma & Louise" soundtrack, I was very disappointed not to find the crown jewel of this film's score in its entirety: The "Thunderbird" Theme, performed by slide guitar virtuoso Pete Haycock!
It seems that I'm not the only one who was blown away by this particular song at the end of the movie, and immediately sought it out on vinyl on the way home from the theatre (literally, I did!). I remember sitting in my theatre seat, patiently through all the credits, just to confirm my suspicion that this tune had indeed been executed so beautifully by this amazing guitarist, whose lovely trademark slide guitar was featured there. For those of you who are fans of that tune, you can find other Pete Haycock (ex-Climax Blues Band lead guitarist) offerings that are sure to please. I recommend several, actually, including the "Wings of a Film" LIVE recording of Hans Zimmer's soundtrack music (on which Pete Haycock treats us to the entire "Thunderbird" theme from the movie, complete with a full orchestra! It's awesome... On the solo front, you'd be wise to add "Guitar and Son", "Livin' It", "Bikers' Dozen", and his new band's latest release, "Pete Haycock's True Blues LIVE -- featuring Glen Turner". Rumor has it that, in addition to the current tour he's enjoying in Europe, there may be a return to U.S. soil for a much-anticipated and long-overdue tour here... In the meantime, check out the RMI Sound website and Pete Haycock (dot com) for info about this amazing artist's current offerings. You'll be glad you did! There's nobody better than Pete, in my opinion, and Hans Zimmer made a very astute choice in collaborating with him on several of his movie soundtrack projects, including "K2", and "Drop Zone", among others...
