Monk and friends, July 2, 2006
This is a great example of the genious of Thelonious Monk, whose unique tallents are joined with the hard driving Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers.
They play Monk's music so the fans of Art Blakey should be aware that this is basically a Monk's CD (not a typical Blakey's CD), but they should buy it as well. The music is exciting and inovative, with tenorist Johnny Griffin proving to be a great asset on all kinds of recordings.
