This book has delightful riddles for emergent readers. It has inspired me to plan a "riddle of the day" for my first grade students. Themes include those that are typically included in preschool and primary classrooms including colors, shapes, animals, me, community, letters and numbers, school, calendar and seasons. I have found it a great tool for teaching the strategy of inferring. The riddles are predictable, so young children can be successful with this sometimes difficult strategy and build fluency at the same time.
