From the Manufacturer

Theme Hospital is the second game in Bullfrog's 'Designer' series. The first was, of course, Theme Park; one of the most successful games ever. Theme Hospital gives you total control over a plot of land which you must turn into a thriving city hospital. You are in the driving seat from the outset, deciding which rooms you want to build, as well as where to position them and how big you want them to be. When you're happy with your building, the next thing is to hire staff. Do you go for the big-shot Psychiatrist demanding an astronomical salary, or the cheap novice to train with the skills you want? Do you want to fork out your hard-earned cash for extra Janitors to keep your hospital tidy? Do you let any VIPs in to see the state of your institution? Theme Hospital is a never-ending stream of such choices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Addictive!, September 26, 2002
By
This review is from: Theme Hospital (Video Game)
Let me start by stating that I am an Atari 2600 girl who does not normally like the games of "today" because I find them too complicated and too time-consuming to figure out. That is, until I found this game. For some reason, I was attracted to the title. It sounded like a fun game. When I started playing it, I found it to be not only fun but very easy to learn and quite addictive! All you use is a mouse and you can build your hospital the way you want (including restrooms, staff room complete with pool table and arcade game, soda machines, etc.), hire staff, purchase property for more rooms, etc. The higher the level you get, the more neat stuff you can build (scanners, x-ray room, operating theatre, even a hair restoration clinic) and the more obstacles you face (earthquakes, emergencies, epidemics, etc.). There are so many things to control in this game from making sure each staff member is in the proper place to shooting rats that roam your hospital. Sometimes a stomach virus will spread in the hospital and you have to hurry maintenance men to clean up the vomit (the sound effects are also a hoot). The game even keeps stats like how many times a bench or soda machine is used so you can rearrange your hospital more efficiently. I find myself playing this game for hours! Theme Hospital is definitely worth the money, but you can also buy this game as part of the "Top Ten Blue" pack for less.

A couple of years back I remember playing a demo for this game. I told myself one day I will get the game and I did.
Pros: the graphic are nice, it funny, you get to run a hospital, serveral level to play, easy to play, and you get to deal with all types of patient with weird health problem
Cons: The game freezes when playing the last scenario might just be my game, a problem with patient sometimes getting stuck, can get boring after awhile but I go back to play it on and off. Overall I really enjoyed this game and wish that they made a Theme Hospital 2 or an expansion

5.0 out of 5 stars For the ELITE Sim player..., December 2, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Theme Hospital (Video Game)
This game is for video game players with BRAINS. This isnt a hack-em, slash-em, shoot anything that moves game. Hence the theme of a SIMULATOR game. Nuff on that.
This game is absolutely hysterical. Listening to the nurse page overhead with requests such as "Patients PLEASE do NOT die in the halls" and curing some of the most RIDICULOUS ailments (Like the Kings Disease-patient thinks he's Elvis Presley and you have to hire a psychiatrist to treat him) make this game an absolute MUST for those who enjoy a bit of carefree humor.
Game play is EASY with a tutorial (that can FORTUNATELY be turned off) and easy to follow instructions. This is a MUST for anyone who enjoys sim games (Sim City, The Sims, Theme Park, etc.)
