Biography

The Manic Street Preachers are the UK rock band who have won a great deal of critical acclaim over the years, but still their history is inextricably bound with the mystery surrounding the troubled lyricist Ritchey Edwards, who disappeared in 1995, only three albums into their eight album career.

In the beginning, the Manics were heavily influenced by punk and their gigs were riotous affairs. They… Read more in Amazon's Manic Street Preachers Store

3.0 out of 5 stars Here's What You Get, October 20, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Theme From M.A.S.H. (Suicide Is Painless) (Audio CD)
Suicide is Painless is on the CD, and unlike so many other CD's with the song, this one DOES have the words! However, if you are looking for the version you all have come to love from the show MASH, you may be a little dissapointed. This version has an 80's rock band sound to it. Although not a bad sounding song, it was well done, just not what I was looking for when I bought the CD. If you want an electric guitar, more upbeat pace to the song, go for it, this is what you want, otherwise, keep looking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super [high] but worth it., July 7, 2001
By
This review is from: Theme From M.A.S.H. (Suicide Is Painless) (Audio CD)
it's a japanese single so it's super [costly]but worth it. this single is not released on any albums and there is a sentimental value to it as richey was still in the band then. the song itself can stand alone but manics turned this into a light-rock version. and they did it brilliantly. and "dead yankee drawl" is a great track too. get it at all cost. because you might just run out of time. i don't think this will be ever released on any album, not even on the manics greatest hits (or whatever), if there is one.
