Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Four early childhood teachers have collaborated to create an energy-packed theme-based curriculum "exploding" with classroom tested ideas.

ThemeStorming looks at curriculum in a different way. Ten theme-based chapters including Sticky; Giant Teeny Tiny; Muddy Puddles, Soap and Bubbles; and Meanies, Monsters and Make Believe examine ideas from a different perspective and awaken both the teacher's and children's interests.

Each chapter contains theme objectives, suggested additions for learning centers, snacks, discovery activities, art activities, music and movement activities, math activities, language activities, transition ideas, songs and chants, theme extensions and variations, bibliography, poems and recordings all designed to be a springboard for creative thinking

The creativity and inspiration found in this early education book would be an asset to any teacher's bookshelf. As a reference for "how to entertain while teaching" it is unsurpassed. Kudos to the authors and I look forward to more of their work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Ideas!, June 23, 2008
This review is from: ThemeStorming: How To Build Your Own Theme-Based Curriculum the Easy Way (Paperback)
I often find that I have to weed out over half of the ideas I find in a resource book before using plans in my classroom. This book actually INSPIRED me to create extra lessons for each unit to keep the fun going. The only thing that would improve this book is if it were a few thousand pages longer.
