Editorial Reviews

Review

"A good, well paced story with all the right elements - romance, intrigue, a beautiful setting, and believable characters Mona Ingram has an uncanny ability to draw her characters so well you are drawn right into their lives - even those on the fringes of the story. I didn't want this one to end."

"I look forward to Mona Ingram's new books when they show up on Amazon. They are a good escape and are fun to get to know the characters. My favourite character in this book is Agnes, she is the type of lady that all of us would be happy to have in our life to put us in our place and to be brutally honest with. She's a no nonsense type lady and I would have loved to read more with her in the book. The plot of the story is interesting with a surprising twist, and you can't help but dislike Amanda's husband Vince from the start and side with her getting together with Jackson although she is a married woman. A fun read!"

From the Author

I grew up in northern British Columbia, and if I close my eyes I can see the calm green waters of mountain lakes, their surface broken only by the dip of a canoe paddle. I can hear the crackle of a campfire and the haunting cry of Loons just before darkness. It's a wild and beautiful country; a perfect setting for this romantic story. Enjoy!

THEN CAME LOVE is a wonderful love story. I felt as if I actually knew the characters since they were all so well drawn. There are both good guys and bad guys in this book, with exciting sub-plots in addition to the delightful romance. The book seems ready made for a PIXL movie. As I read, I kept telling myself that someone needs to make this into a romantic movie that the PIXl channel features. If they did, it would be a big hit. If you love well drawn characters, exotic locales, the triumph of good over evil mixed in with a wonderful story of romance, then get yourself a copy. You will thoroughly enjoy this book.

I love books by this author and I have read quite a few. I liked the character of Jackson. This story was not as engrossing as all her other stories but I would still recommend this author's books. She is one of the few authors whose books I read to escape.

Then Came Love is a bittersweet sensational story that shows us true love will happen when least expected.

I truly did love the setting of Then Came Love. I don't know much about Canada, so I'm not sure if Loon Lake is an actual place, but it seems like a fantastic place. Look Lake is the perfect getaway and I can see how romance could get stirred up there. I could see it more as a place to live than just vacation, with its peaceful serene setting.

Jackson is just that man we wish we could all have in our life. Someone so honest, open, and just that incredible stand up kind of guy. We get a little bit of his point of view and I wish we would have seen more. Amanda deserves happiness and is the kind of character you only wish good things for. Some of her decisions in life might not have been the best but it got her to this point so I don't think she would have changed anything.

I am the first person to admit I don't like cheating in a book. It seemed off putting at first that Amanda was having thoughts about Jackson. But then we meet Vince and it was understandable why those feelings had developed. I can understand and respect the reasons she chose to stay with Vince instead of leaving earlier on because of the position she was in. Vince was a complete jerk and doesn't deserve to have someone as sweet and compassionate as Amanda. The back story a tiny bit odd between Amanda and Vince and as much as I don't like him I wish more was written about that.

I wished that the story was slowed down and detailed more. I wanted to dive deeper into the story. I had hoped Agnes would have had a bigger part in the story. I adored her attitude and the way she approached life. Agnes is definitely someone you would want to give you insightful advice on really anything.

THEN CAME LOVE by Mona Ingram

ABOUT THE BOOK: Stuck in an unhappy marriage, Amanda Reimer grabs the opportunity to go on a short holiday by herself.

Jackson Galloway is an undercover cop. A member of the RCMP Green Team, he's in the interior of British Columbia to find a marijuana grow-op and take it down. Jackson gives Amanda a lift to Loon Lake Resort and is intrigued by the gentle woman. The chemistry between the two is immediate and powerful, but Amanda is determined to stick to her marriage vows...besides, she's afraid of her husband.

Jackson is just as determined...to see Amanda again when the drug bust is over. But will the growing love between Amanda and Jackson survive the pressures of finding the grow-op? Join Amanda and Jackson in a journey of discovery, where the ultimate destination is love

REVIEW: Then Came Love is a short contemporary romance storyline that focuses on Amanda Reimer and her need to escape-- if only for a few days. Amanda's husband hides a secret and one that could destroy the foundation of her life.

Amanda's marriage was a marriage of convenience. Hoping to secure the money to help her ailing grandmother, Amanda knew she had made a grievous error when the man to whom she was married, had a hidden life that provided their means of support. But Amanda will soon find herself attracted to Jackson Galloway-a man who hides a secret or two.

Then Came Love is a simple storyline that is fast paced but misses the mark when it comes to details. There were a few spots where information and names had not been revealed to major characters but would suddenly be part of a regular conversation.

A well-written story that's like taking a bubble bath, soothing, enjoyable, and a bit bubbly to tempt and tease the day away. Don't drop the Kindle in the tub, that's not a good idea.

I found this story kind of cute. It was a good read, but it lacked some excitement. This would still be a good, quick read for during the day or something. It had potential to be even better.

I stayed up until 1am so I could finish reading this book. Some will consider the main character, Amanda, naive but she was alone in the world struggling to care for her grandmother. She was working at Vance' s club and married him so her grandmother wouldn't have to go to a nursing home. For most individuals especially those that are no longer able to care for themselves regardless of age are afraid of. It is reality. I visit my 59yr old sister 2-3 times a week. She has been a resident for a little over a year. I can tell you the majority of residents get few or no visitors. They are forgotten. Amanda believed the little Vince did tell her. While on a short vacation by herself she realized how her husband had constantly belittled her and in doing so destroyed her self confidence. After making real friends and finding a man who treats her right she rethinks her situation. I won't spoil the rest but for a book of only approx 90 pages the author tells a good story. Thanks for sharing your writing. I look forward to reading more of your books.
