Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"How we ever won a game playing in those uniforms, I'll never know.... The socks made you feel like a clown. Maybe those first few games, we just scared teams to death."
--Frank Tripucka, the Broncos' first quarterback

"On the field, he was a guy who always made something happen. He would hit somebody and cause a fumble or he'd recover a fumble. I loved him as a teammate. He wanted just to win."
--Craig Morton on Broncos teammate Lyle Alzado

"...He really loved owning the Broncos. He really reveled in it. And, of course, the best thing he ever did for the team was getting John Elway from the Colts. He's the one who engineered that whole deal, and a lot of people have forgotten that."
--Craig Morton on former Broncos owner Edgar Kaiser

3.0 out of 5 stars A Review by a Bronco Fan, November 24, 2008

This review is from: Then Morton Said to Elway: The Best Denver Broncos Stories Ever Told (Book & CD) (Hardcover)
If you're a John Elway fanatic (and let's face it, aren't we all) be warned that, although Morton mentions Elway often and always in the context of being the best there ever was, there is no detailed conversation recounted.

I expected, when buying this book that there would be interactive conversational memories, it's really a Craig Morton biography with short reviews of all the Broncos with which he played as well as some he watched.

All that said, I'm glad I bought it, the book is fun and an easy read. Morton does discuss players, Denver and the NFL. He's relentlessly upbeat and shows respect without appearing to be fawning.

If you're a "hard core" fan and not just on board since the 1983 draft, this book is for you.
